About You!
Personality:Natalie is a no-bullshit type of person. She tends to take things that are dear to her very seriously; often coming off as single-minded to most people. While she doesnt mind distractions, she tends to keep focused on her goals, viewing obstacles as thing that will make her a stronger in the end of her journey. Natalie is self described as 'an introverted, brooding, cold and taciturn teenager who pushes away those who would otsherwise be considered her friends.' Though withdrawn, Natalie does not shrink from what she considers her duty. As much as she resents assuming leadership, she is the first to ensure that what is necessary gets done. Natalie's clear mind and sense of responsibility lead others to trust and follow her. Even though everyone agrees on how difficult Natalie can be, her superior officers and fellow soldiers admire her. You only live once.
However, to the few people that she opens up to, Natalie can still be described as 'the Ice Queen', though somewhat warmer. She is fiercely loyal those those whome she likes, and will do everything in her power to protect them from harm, often going to great lengths to ensure they are safe.
Likes: Natalie absolutely adores sweets. Be it candies or fruits, if it is sweet, she will want to try it at least once. She's open to trying new candies from exotic locations; any from rare jellies to your grandmother's homemade recipe for cheesecake. If it is sweet, she's going to want it. She can often be found with a lollipop betwixt his lips, face frowned in concentration as she flips through a book. And speaking of books... Natalie currently holds the record for unreturned books in the Hana library. She loves to read, and will read anything she gets her hands upon. History, mysteries and horror are among his favorites...
Beyond this, Natalie loves to train. She often spends hours on end training, or forming out new techniques to use. she believes that her reward for a hard day’s training is the satisfaction that she is bettering herself as a soilder.
Dislikes: Natalie supremely dislikes braggarts. To her, they embody all that she hates about people. Ha has no problem with people who are confident of their abilities, mind you. But those who boast that can beat anyone that they come across, regardless of if they can or cannot. These are the people whom Natalie does not like. she sees this as pointless; there is always someone bigger, badder, and higher up on the food chain. And those are the ones who usually put the braggarts in their place.
Natalie does not like sour foods. Something mildly sour, like a tart is fine. But anything that is so sour that it makes her look like she's been sucking on a lemon is a no-no. she hates these food with an undying passion.
For some reason, Natalie dislikes bright colors. Perhaps it is because many people believe that homosexuals prefer bright, flashy colors, or that she was never a big fan of them to begin with. Either way, she avoids them. The only bright color that she has ever been seen to wear is white. To her, white represents purity, sacredness, and divinity.
Motivations: Natalie has no true motivations, save for gathering information. The purpose of her gathering information? Well, time will tell...
In any case, her current goal is to impress her 'superiors' in an effort to gain thier trust, and rise within the ranks of the military. Everything she learns, she keeps stored on a personal PDA -- research and development done by the military scientists, battle plans and troop deployments. She even has a nifty little roster of the soldiers within the military, as well as gigs upon gigs of data of blackmail information on the commanding officers. Why does she have this kind of information saved? "Insurance."
Fears: With all of her information gathering, oddly enough Natalie does not fear getting caught by the officers of Hana, but rather she simply does not care. Her getting caught would only push forward the next phase of her personal mission. But beyond this... What is there to fear but fear itself? The idea of failure only causes fear in the idea of her being unable to protect those she loves; but even that goes so much deeper than just fear. It becomes a physical pain that manifests a rage beyond comprehension. A rage, that only when it is satisfied and has left her, would indeed leave her as an empty shell of a person. There really can't be anything else listed that Natalie fears; given her rather insane qualities that allow her to see past the fears a normal person would have. Even the fear of her own death or an intense amount of pain has little to no hold over her, giving her the ability to charge into a battle without hesitation; even if the odds are stacked highly against her - something that normally instills fear into the hearts of those she is facing off with. Something that tends to cause most to flee in terror, vomit, or otherwise piss themselves when faced with it.
History: The child of the former leader of SeeD corperation Squall Leonheart and the Scorceress Rinoa Heartily, Natalie Arawn Leonheart was nearly predestined to become the next leader of the SeeD Coorporation. From the time she could walk and talk, the child was trained under the careful supervision of her mother and father: Rinoa imparted into the child a fraction of her own Sorceress power, ensuring that Natalie was to be her next successor; Squall raised her through the same vigorous training regiment that he himself went through at Balamb Garden.
The child was trained across the board, practicing with many kinds of weapon in order to ensure that she would never be caught unawares in a fight. But the child fount her true calling when she came across her father's old weapons; the various models of Gunblades that he'd collected over the years. From the moment she picked one up, Natalie fell in love with the strange weapon. She began to practice with her father's base model, the Revolver, learning his basic style from old training footage. However, when Squall found out, he urged his daughter to learn directly from him, showing and correcting her in how to weild the Gunblade properly. It was during this time that Natalie was taught to ultilize Blaster Edges similar to her mother's own. Once her training was complete, the child began to use the weapons in tandem with deadly efficiency.
Natalie grew to merge her father and mother's styles of combat into one; a style that was much more fluid than the traditional SeeD's. As a present for her fifteenth birthday, Natalie was allowed to forge her own weapons for use. After several weeks of gathering the materials, the weapons were formed: the Vanishing Star and Silenced Tear, a gunblade and Blaster Edge repsectively. Both weapons were infused with portians her parent's abilities: Vanishing Star had been imbued with temporal powers, which would allow her to manipulate time in her immediate vicinity, while the Silenced Tear was baptised with more of Rinoa's powers. Both weapons were fashioned with a custom Junction system.
Armed with her new weapons, Natalie began to take on missions for the SeeD corporation. That is, until news arrived; her father had been killed. Not many details had been given; he'd supposedly died during the attack on a city. The news shook Natalie; her father had been a powerhouse to her. How could he have died? Natalie made it her mission to find out. Upon realizing what her daughter aimed to do, Rinoa forbid her, forcing the child to swear off a 'reckless mission of revenge'. Natalie swore, and focused herself into her studies. Several short years later, Natalie was elected Commander of SeeD, taking the leader of the company off the hands of one of her father's former companions...
For a while, things went well. Over the next few years, Natalie took to comandeering the company like a fish to water. She was able to raise the profits for the company tenfold, increasing the already high demand for her company's services by tenfold by following the advic given to her by the original creator of SeeD, Cid Kramer. As such, she was able to negotiate and secure a vast plot of land, hidden away from the prying eyes and protected by powerful magics.
It was here that Garden was able to lay down roots once more, giving the vast mercenary force a permanant home once more. Natalie gave the orders for a vast training facility to be erected on the plot of land, with plenty of space to accomidate the students, staff, and the various facilities that would mirror those of the original Garden. There was even a wetdock erected on the shore nearby for the mobile Garden, and launchpad for Ragnarok.
Several more years passed, with Natalie at the head of the SeeD corporation. Under her tutelage, the SeeD corperation has given birth to a new breed of soldier; humans with cybernetic implants meant to increase thier fighting powers. While highly effective in combat, the implants are optional for the cadets; mainly offered to those whom expressed thier wishes to remain in the service of Garden for a longer tour. This option, while initially costing the company millions to get off the ground, soon skyrockets: the lack of rest needed for those allowed them to return to battle faster than those whom lacked the enhancements. This in turn, allowed the SeeD corporation to increase thier profits sevenfold. At the same time, SeeD began to take on goverment contracts, building weapons and technology for various governments.
All the while, Natalie herself remained on the frontlines, completeing missions and fighting alongside her soldiers. By the age of twenty, Natalie's SeeD corporation army was over two million strong, making it the largest private military in the world. Throughout the whole time, the company was able to resist corruption due to strong core values, careful screening of applicants, and an exellent field surveillance team. Natalie took to using the Mobile Garden as her personal base, housing within it the spec ops forces of which she was a member of. The goal was to always the Spec Ops constantly mobile; in case of emergancy, the unit was never too far off from a battlefield to render aid.
It was this reason that Natalie and her crew came across the island of Shinkai Shigai, the site of her father's death. Taking the initiative upon realizing that she'd never made contact with the 'Boss' of the city to apologize for her father's actions. Upon coming off the ship, Natalie comes to find that the city had been abandoned by its previous leader and that two people that she had encountered in her travels, a salamander by the name of Houjin and an elementalist by the name of Avery, had begun to lead the city just a few days prior. Natalie offered them the financial backing of the SeeD corporation to help them further thier goals with the provison that SeeD be allowed to build a base of operations on the edge of the city.
Natalie settled down in the city of Shinkai Shigai, ruling alongside her friends. True to her nature, the ran the city's military, recruiting many a person into either SeeD or Shinkai Shigai's private military. As time went on, her several of the science teams approached her with shocking news; this place was a teetering the prespice of a dimensional crossroad. Their findings were support by the admissions of several townsfolks; they had seen several of the portals opening in the skies above and lights falling from them, as well as going up into them. They even proposed a method to predict the next occurance of a portal opening. Armed with this knowledge, Natalie volunteered her self to go through the portal on the next opening. Arming herself with Vanishing Star and a powerful spell to protect her mind and body when the portal opened, Natalie made her way through.
Upon reaching the otherside, Natalie found herself in the village of Hanagakure. She quickly came to realize that A) Hana was military ruled and that B) Her magic was severely limited here. Undettered, Natalie adapted rather quickly, disguising herself a civilian and joining the military. She found that soldiers of Hanagakure used technology was not that far behind that of what she used at home; it was only a matter of time before she was able to pass herself off as a well-trained practiioner of this specialty. Over time, she began to make plans, gathering information on the leaders of Hanagakure for things to come...
RP Sample: "Commander! We've docked in the port. Alpha squad is on standby, awaiting orders."
"Thank you, Captain. I'll be long shortly. Have Alpha dress as combat-ready civi's; no need to attract unwanted attention. Small Arms only; nothing that cannot be hidden. Have them split: junction as much support and defensive magic, while the rest focuses on solitary offense." It never hurt to be safe. She wanted to avoid a fight as much as she could; but hatred could last for years, and vengece was hard to kill. Cool blue eyes met the officer's own before glancing down at her wrist. The small timepice there read out at exactly 1200.
"I also want this Garden fully restocked and refueled by 1800, understand?""Yes sir!"
"That is all, Captain. Dismissed." As the door to her quarters was closed, the female let out a sigh of relief; this job was never easy. But at least, today was not going to be insane. A formal apology, one that was to adressed to the leader of this city for her Father's actions. It was long overdue, but better late than never. And so, she was here to make this apology on behalf of the SeeD corporation and Garden. She'd go in full military dress: the standard female SeeD Uniform: modeled after the Japanese seeraafuku, consists of a black blouse with dark blue shoulders that echo the design of the sailor-style collar. Attached to the collar are two gold-trimmed "wings" that hang over the chest; a maroon tie is also worn with a metal clasp possessing the SeeD logo. The ensemble is completed with a straight skirt cutting off just above the knees, topped off with black knee-high boots. The squad accompanying her would be dressed as civilians with 'special' gear: the basics of urban infiltration, including special engineered 'contact lenses' that would allow them to identify each other in a crowded area: the combat-ready civilian clothing provided almost as much protection as the normal combat gear, while still retaining the appearance of civi clothing.
But her? She was going in 'naked'. Well, mostly.
As she passed from through the doorway out of her quarters, her weapon of choice was snatched from the stand; the holster was fitted as she walked to the loading bay to meet Alpha Squad. Upon her arrival, the group of six stood at attention, snapping her a salute.
"Today's mission is very simple, Alpha. We're going out into the city. Your job is to keep watch from various locations while I complete the mission. Blend in with the crowd; and keep your eyes peeled. If somethig happens, form into two-man teams: one offense, one support. However, do not engage unless I give the order. If you are attacked, by all means, defend yourselves.""Yes Sir!"
"Alright then, Alpha. Lets move!"Faceclaim: Transient Princess ~ Monty Oum
