General Description: Strafe has always been described as hansome. He has a slender and toned body with dirty blonde hair that comes past his ears. One of the most distinct part of his attire is his hard frame glasses, which he really doesn't need. His sandy brown eyes are usually complemented on, as well as his unique attire. He often wears netting under all his clothing, as it is strangely more comfortable that way. He sticks to different variations of brown for his shirts to go along with his black pants and ninja shoes.
About You!
Personality: Strafe has often been described as cynical and calculating. He often finds himself insulting his opponent's intelligence during battle. He loves to work out strategies in his head and writes them down for later use. He thinks that is intelligence and jutsu are superior to all others, even if it isn't true. He is emotionless on the battlefield, showing to no mercy to his opponent. He is very strict when it comes to the mission and completing it. He takes pride in his skill and in his unique jutsu, even to the point of arrogance. Above all else, Strafe is dedicated to his life as a Shinobi and takes it very seriously.
Contrary to how he treats his enemies, Strafe actually isn't a bad guy. He is helpful to anyone and will help train if asked. He likes to push those around him to become stronger, creating rivals of sorts. He is often sarcastic, but not to the point of being rude. He secretly has a slight interest in genjutsu, but is too stuborn to actually learn it. He considers it a cop out for any ninja. He loves the feel of the wind and ocean, making his Change in Nature elements perfect, at least in his mind.
Likes: Strafe enjoys swimming, despite living in a place without major sources of water. Relaxing in the breeze is also a fond pastime of his. He is also very fond of Shogi and other board games that require strategy. He is very fond of foreign foods, even to the point of traveling for that very purpose. He also secretly enjoys calligraphy, but denies it if asked. Like most people, Strafe loves Hot Springs and will sit in one for hours at a time, even though he has gotten sick several times because of this. Unlike most, Strafe is fond of training, as he believes there is always a need for more strength.
Dislikes: Above all else, Strafe dislikes the cold. Anytime he is remotely chilly, he will do whatever it takes to warm himself up. He also dislikes large crowds, as he gets annoyed with them easily. Elderly people make him uncomfortable as well, but he endures it when he has too. Strafe is very energetic and therefore hates being bored. He would rather be on a mission than at home resting. Despite growing up in Yokuchigakure, he honestly doesn't like sand as it always ends up in awkward places on his body. Because of that, he hates sparring with people from the Sabure clan.
Motivations: What motivates Strafe more than anything else is the death of Satoru. He never wants to loose a comrade becauase of his mistake and it motivates him to become the greatest ninja alive. His parents are also a source of motivation, as he wants to make them proud and keep their proud legacy. He also finds motivation from his village and from his puppets, which never cease to make him want to train for some odd reason. Lastly, he finds motivation from the people around him, as they encourage him constantly to get better and protect the village as they know he willl.
Fears: Strafe has the extreme fear of helplessness. He wants to always be able to defend his village and fight those who oppose it. He also has a fear of the dead, as he could never face Satoru after what happened. He also fears the destruction of his village, as it means everything to him. Above all, he fears the death of his parents and constantly encourages both to stay retired. Last but not least, he has a small fear of small spaces. He is always ready to go into battle and he feels that small spaces hinder that shinobi principle.
History: Strafe's parents, Akira and Chika, are both retired ninja who earned the right to settle down. Both fought in many wars and were big parts of the village in their day. Having both hit the mark of forty years old, they decided to have a child. Strafe was then brought into the world as an only child, as that was all his mother could have. His family was pretty average growing up, as he was never in need of anything. Even at a very young age, he had dreams of going into the Academy and becoming a Shinobi like his parents, who often went on missions. They eventually retired once they both reached the age of fifty
At the age of six, Strafe's wish was granted and he was entered into the Academy. Immediately, he showed his hard work and dedication to his training, quickly rising to the top of his class. However, he made a few rivals because of this and was the target of contempt on more than one occasion. Despite that, Strafe continued to work hard until he graduated at the early age of ten. While it wasn't record breaking, he was satisfied with his work thus far and was ready to move on to life as a Genin.
He was then assigned a Sensei, Kazou, and two fellow Genin to work with, Koichi and Satoru. His squad was unique in the fact that it was 3 boys with a male Sensei. He enjoyed his life and worked hard despite the simplistic missions he was given. Strafe's squad was even assigned a B-Rank mission, with it being a complete success. His Sensei was impressed and even spoke highly of them for the Chunin exams that were to come up. However, before that time could come tradegy struck in his team.
While on a mission to escort a villager to the Land of Grass, his team was attacked by several ninja of an unknown village. With his Sensei's hands full because of the leader of the group, all three of the Genin fought bravely. Strafe in particular did well in disabling his opponent, even having him beg for mercy on the battlefield. Because of Strafe's youth and stupidity, he showed the ninja mercy. However, the Ninja then attacked and killed Satoru from behind. Strafe became enraged and killed the ninja without remorse. The rest of the mission went off without a hitch, but Strafe was forever changed by what happened that day.
From that point on, Strafe worked twice as hard to become stronger and more precise in battle. He was determined to never let another comrade die because of his ignorance. While it concerned his Sensei, there was no time to discuss it as the Chunin exams had arrived and Strafe's team was entered, though they only had two member. Despite their disadvantage, Strafe made it to the final round of the Exams, eventually acquiring Chunin rank on his first try at the age of eleven.
After accomplishing such a feat, Strafe eventually stopped beating himself up over the death of his friend. He loved life as a Chunin and was very well respected by his superior ranking Shinobi. He decided that the only way to prevent something like that from happening, was to train harder. He traveled to a cave made and maintained by his clan to train for a year. He ended staying for a year and a half, perfecting a new justu he created himself. While he has never used the jutsu in battle to this day, he prepared to use it when the time comes.
Soon after that, he was offered a role as a Special Jounin. Strafe gladly accepted the offer at the age of twenty. He was one step closer to being stronger and showing himself that he has changed since his days as a Genin. He was then assigned to help host and run the Chunin Exams, which is an honor as well. Strafe did this for several years, getting to know many people from all 5 of the main villages. He loved being around the young ninja, which led him to want his own pupil to train.
It would be many years before that happened, as Strafe was a key part of the defense of the village. Strafe was one of the lead strategist and even defended the village against a squad of missing-nin with no back up. That battle was legendary, giving him the name "Heart of the Desert", much to his dismay. At first, he was angered when called this, but eventually he became accustomed to hearing that name in battle. He eventually was promoted to Jounin and has even served on the Anbu of his village, protecting the Kage on many occasions.
He was eventually assigned a pupil to work under him. He was suprised at this development, as Jounin usually train three Genin, but gladly accepted his assignment. He began to train the young Hatsu in the ways of Ninjutsu and eventually the student became a Chunin. He is often seen catching up with Hatsu, as they became like family during their time together.
He was already one of the strongest Shinobi in the village and he wanted to take his training to the next level by going back into the cave he trained in so long ago. He stayed only for 6 months before coming out a better Shinobi. He often brags about further advancing his secret jutsu, but refuses to tell what it is. When he was asked about it, he could only say that he hoped to never need to use it.
Most Recently, he has decided to become the next kage of his village, as he wants to protect all of the people he cares about. He still trains everyday so that he can one day he can die protecting the village he loves. Most would say he is a legend of his village, but he would smile and tell you he is just another shinobi with big dreams.
RP Sample: It was another humid day in the Land of Deserts, and Strafe was casually walking towards the Kage's office. He was suddenly summoned for another mission, which had happened quite often lately. It seemed the activity of Missing-Nin was quickly rising. Strafe scowled at the thought of his last mission. It took almost 3 weeks to complete, which meant less time for training. There was nothing he could do though, so there was no point in dreading it.
He finally approached the gigantic building, nodding towards the guards as they let him through. He followed the ever so familar stairs that led up to the office of the Yokuchikage, Luca Iki. He always enjoyed their conversations and this time would be no different. It was just another day in the life of a Shinobi.
