| This is the master listing of each village of the site past and present. A short description of the village along with any special boosts/nerfs that are given will be maintained here as well. As villages are created and destroyed they will be moved to the appropriate area. Former Villages- Denryuu:
Lost to the world above the waves; Denryuu was once the sister village to Ame and Kiri. A series of events lost to history saw the village sunk below the waves and hidden deep within a giant vortex. The village and her people survived and adapted to their new world under the waves. Over the centuries they gre and adapted to the watery environment, gaining the ability to breath water as if it was air and slowly beginning to take on the aspects and attributes of the sea like around them. They became much like the famous Hoshikage clan; fish-like in many way and in appearance; with some children born right before the final death of the village more fish then human, unable to survive in the parts of the village not underwater for long periods of time.
-Underwater; exists in a sort of giant air bubble type thing, in the center of a giant vortex/whirlpool. On the bottom of the ocean. -Completely cut off from the outside world. Most of the villagers don't even believe there is a world outside of their ocean home. -Mutations that allow for breathing underwater will be allowed outside of the Hoshigake (Kisame's) clans; but only for clans in this village. -Lightning chakra is extremely rare in this village, and cannot be taken as a primary. Raiton used against Denryu ninja gains +2 power. Denryu ninja using Raiton take -1 in power, and can only use it to B rank. -Native clans will all receive a +1 strength/usage to Suiton chakra so long as it is the primary element.
- Ame:
Existing along the other great water villages as long as anyone could remember; Ame was historically a battleground for other, larger nations that worked hard to keep the village from ever becoming very large or powerful on anything but a regional scale. However, with Uzushiogakure and Kirigakure gone and the majority of the world focused elsewhere, Amegakure was finally able to escape from it's oppressed position in the world and grow powerful; taking over the void left by Kirigakure for as long as it was able to. It's destruction left Denryuu as the last of the great water villages standing; although Denryuu's position under the waves and lost to the knowledge of the surface world meant that no one knew of this until after Denryu was destroyed.
- Ninja from Ame gain +1 power to Suiton as their primary element.
- Hana:
Civilian powerhouse; and the only village beyond Yokuchi not directly effected by the plague. Nature and technology go hand in hand here. Wandering or Rouge ninja can base themselves here, so long as they follow the rules of the land. A civilian government is in place here; whether we open it up for player involvement or not depends on demand. Anyone and everyone can travel here with permission from their leaders. The only land routes still in existence are here; one leads to Yokuchi, the other to the Thunder Valley outside of old Kumo.
- Kori:
An ancient village once thought lost to the ice, a recent expedition to the northern lands discovered this village still alive and actually thriving in the harsh glacial lands it called home. The hardy people of this land are functionally immune to the cold, however this has not stopped them from becoming experts in tanning, cloth production, weaving, and all the various related arts. Trading of animals and rare minerals, ores, and strange gems found within the frozen mountains and boreal forests keep the economy of the village running smoothly; while special greenhouses formed of the glacial ice itself allow for the growing of huge amounts of produce and medicinal herbs for the people. Teams of ninja from Kori and the southern villages have worked to reopen the tunnel systems that connect Kori to the rest of the world, and the installation of several warp tiles recently means that they never have to worry about being cut off again. Land travel to the village is only possible during the warm summer months after the spring melt floods have ended, but before the fall snows have filled the valley passes again.
- Kori ninja are functionally immune to cold, taking -1 damage to Ice jutsu. - Kori ninja take a +1 power to all Ice jutsu they use in cold climates (This does not include seasons. Only regions.) - In the heat of Yokuchi, Kori ninja take a -1 to all stats. - Kori clans may not take Katon as a primary, cannot train it beyond B rank, and require 50% larger word counts to learn. - Clan less Kori ninja may have Katon, however all word counts tied to the training or element will be doubled.
Current Villages- Niwaurushi:
This village is the spiritual successor to Konoha, and has the most varied population; housing ninja from all of the old villages as well as migrants and travelers from the new. The land is the second largest; after Yokuchi; and exists entirely within a mountain valley. While once completely isolated outside of air travel, warp tiles, and a few underground tunnels; the mountain passes and a channel cut from the inner lake to the lowland river systems of Makkura now give overland access to the country. The valley is roughly as large as Kusa; with geography that covers everything from grasslands to inland seas to mountains to dense forests. It's a microcosm of the outside world, really. The center of the valley is the inland sea area; a lake that seems to stretch beyond the horizon. In the center is a gigantic banyan-mangrove tree; which houses the main ninja village. On the coasts are smaller outposts/civilian villages. The entire country is open to explore and such, however the barrier in the mountains is impassible; so don't even bother trying.
- Diverse cultures and peoples - Most ninja live under or in the Shinboku Tree; however you are allowed to base out of the outpost villages. - Any ninja from any clan can live here unless the clan is restricted to a specific area. - Suiton and Katon are common here, thanks to the various ancient clan bloodlines that fill the people. - Chakra Beasts stalk the forest and are easy game for capture. Access to many of the Sage temples can be found in the mountains outside the village.
- Yokuchi:
The shining jewel in the center of the desert; Yokuchi is a thriving hub of commerce and trade filled with the treasures and intellectual might of the world. Much of Kumo's strength was relocated here until the mountain village was retaken, and much of it still lives here while the rebuilding process runs it's course. Nomadic merchant tribes, strange peoples from beyond the far sands, and the peoples of all the villages come to do trade and vacation in the village keep the place bustling and full day and night. Renovations to the underground section of the city, as well as installations of large well pumps and special channels dug into the sands and around the outer walls have allowed greenery taken from all over the world to take hold in the city; giving it the appearance of a veritable jungle oasis.
-Most diverse culture of all the villages -Heavily merchant based economy -All natives not of Kumogakure clans receive +1 to Katon or Fuuton, whichever is their primary element. -Anyone of a native Yokuchi clan that takes Double Katon will receive a +1 rank and +2 power, instead of the normal +1 rank/power. -Kumo ninja are able to take missions and jobs in Yokuchi without special permissions
- Makkura:
A tragic past still haunts this city; once a thriving farming capital and sister to Hanagakure; Makkura has spent much of the last few centuries scrapping by after a series of biological warfare attacks nearly destroyed it's people. Hanagakure had grown jealous of it's powerful sister and used it's scientific and technological might to poison and destroy the lands once known as the most fertile in all the world. Power barrier jutsu and strange geological anomaly turned this one sunny land into a rainy, dark, hellish nightmare; filled with death and destruction. Bandits and criminals once roamed the lands freely; extorting and controlling the few hardy farmers and miners that managed to eek out a living in this broken land. Things began to change roughly 10 years ago; a new power took control of Makkura and began to rebuild the village and the land; drawing support from the people of the plains not through fear, but through food and medicine and the supplies they desperately needed. An influx of rouge and ronin ninja from outside of their lands added to their strength; and with the fall of Hanagakure due to an implosion of the tunnels below the city; Makkura was finally free to be reborn from the ashes and shadows that it had hid in for so long.
- While recognized as a legitimate village, many of the ninja carry small bounties in other lands - The shadow barrier around the village still stands. Do not enter this area unless you wish to die - The main bounty station is here. - Dark Release gains +1 power in this region. - Treasure Hunting is big game here. Finding lost Hana tech, legendary weapon upgrade material, and super powered chakra beasts is not uncommon on the plains outside the village.
- Kumo:
Rising like a phoenix from the ashes, the village of Kumogakure has returned to life after the devastation of the plague nearly wiped it from the face of the earth. The melting of the glaciers and destruction of the damn that held back the tainted waters killed many of the ninja and civilians that once called the mountains home; however enough survived and fled to Yokuchi to give the village a fighting chance to revive if ever given the chance. With the end of the plague and plenty of help from their desert allies, the village has been almost completely restored and is growing ever larger by the day. The loss of the glaciers as well as the other changes to the geography of the mountains has caused the Eternal Storm to finally end, freeing much of the range from it's grip and allowing humans and nature to colonize the region properly fo the first time in a thousand years. However, with the ending of the great storm came a new oddity; a veritable sea of clouds rising from the flooded lands; fed by the heat of a slowly awakening volcano deep in the mountains. It's power has heated the grounds and the water just enough to create a perfect cloud formation effect; leaving Kumo surrounded by an ocean of white clouds that lap against the edge of the village exactly like water would.
- Famous for their prowess with Kenjutsu, Kumo ninja receive +1 rank/power to Kenjutsu as a primary. - Kumo ninja with Cloud, Weather, and Fuuton release gain +1 rank/power in this region. - Yokuchi ninja are able to take missions and bounties here without special permissions.
- Hinowa:
Built upon the ruins of Korigakure and surrounded by a infantile range of volcanic mountains, Hinowa could not be more different than it's predecessor; warm, tropical, and ripe for farming and life. Greenhouses both public and private dot the landscape; used to foster the growth of imported southern plants and the remaining tundra trees that manage to survive in the warm, volcanic soils. The ancient bay of Kori has been expanded and built upon; a sea wall and gate offering protection from the winter storms and a first line of defense against pirates and the like. A special barrier covers the main village, acting as a wall against both the elements and as a deterrent to anyone and anything that might attempt to attack via land or air; and special hidden gates and rock slides serve as extra defense for the few passes through the mountains. The people of the village of Hinowa are survivors of Korigakure for the most part; with a significant influx of southern peoples that just wanted to escape the looming wars outside of the tundra. Diversity and harmony are the name of the game here; a peaceful life among the paradise of the tundra is all anyone asks for.
- Diverse peoples and cultures. The old and new exist in harmony here. - While the village itself is warm, the native still retain their cold adaptations. Immunity to cold and the +1 power to Hyoton while on the tundra are still a given for anyone born to a Korigakure bloodline. - Chakra beasts are common in the tundra; hunting them is a common sport among the locals - The volcanic nature of the mountains ringing the village have given rise to a new surge of Katon chakra appear in the village. Suiton and Doton are also common, with Hyoton still being the most common seen. - Medics can find a plethora of lost or rare plants and knowledge here. Medical Ninja receive 25% reductions to training word costs while in Hinowa. Quests and Missions to find materials for toxins, poisons, etc receive a 25% break in word count requirements as well.
