Village: Niwa
Rank: Former Sannin-Anbu [Black Sun]
Element(s): Katon | Fuuton | Raiton
Specialties: Taijutsu | Ninjutsu | Fuinjutsu | Kenjutsu
Special Characteristics:Body: Due to an anomaly in his body chemisty, Naota constantly gives off a strange scent. The scent itself is regaurded by many as 'sweet, like a mixture of warm chocolate and honeysuckle.' While this serves no real purpose in combat, socially, many seem to stand a just a tad bit closer, seeminly wanting to have a wiff of him.
Eyes: Naota's eyes have a unique quality as that they seem to produce the same hypnotic stare as his sharingan, even without it active. While he cannot place people under genjutsu this way, he is able to hold someone's attention for varying length of time if they happen to look into them.
Height: Five foot ten
Weight: 130 lbs
Hair: Black, shoulder length
Eyes: Black, see above.
Others: NA
General Appearance: Naota's skin tone is tanned, as if he spent most of his time out in the sun. He has a small sized build, compact and muscular. He weights around one hundred and thirty pounds. Normally, he can be found wearing simplistic clothing; loose t-shirt and shorts -- when it is deemed needed. When not on missions, or out in public -Anywhere that isnt deemed Uchiha property.- he can usualy be found shirtless, and barefoot. Generally, he will wear hakamas when lounging around home.
While on missions, he is generally dressed in yet again, simplistic clothing. His combat attire is generally a plain black t-shirt, made from a strange material that seems to mute the normal sounds of movement (I.e, rustling sounds). The pants that he wears are made from the same material, though slightly heavier.
Unlike most of his clansmen, his clothing bears no markings of the Uchiha clan. The reason why? "Nobody needs to know who I am, or where I from. If your enemy knows these things, then you aren't doing your job correctly."
Personality: Basic/Social:
"Please, do not mistake my silence for ignorance, my calmness for acceptance, nor my kindness for weakness."
Naota is a quiet individual, an introverted and reflective soul. He does not speak unless spoken to, nor does he speak without thinking first. The outcome of this patient approach to socializing is often a witty remark, or wise saying. Even then, his responses are short. His voice is soft, almost fragile, as if he is shy. His quietness often sets him apart. His elders often said that he would grow up to be "the strong, silent type". He is a thinker, not in the battle sense, but philosophical, due to the teachings that his parents instilled in him. He’s polite and even gracious, particularly to people who treat him with respect. Those who do not treat him this way or those who insult him should know he will not hesitate to spit words of venom and bile in response and, when necessary, punch out a few teeth.
Training/Combat:
"Remember that guy that gave up? Yea, neither does anybody else."
Naota takes his training seriously. There have been many a time that he's gone out to train in the morning and not returned until well after sunset. While not power-hungry like most of his kin, he does believe in pushing himself past his limits. He lives by the philosiphy of "If you place limits on yourself, then they will spread over into the rest of your life. There are no limits; hard work pays off -- you get what you put in. So why stop?" Naota will try his best to train with multiple partners, just to increase his effectiveness in battle against different styles. He often practices jutsu and taijutsu combinations for hours on end, simply because he wishes to use them to thier most effective potential i.e, practicing a jutsu to the point that he no longer needs to speak the jutsu's name to use it.
"Be polite. Be professional. Have a plan to kill everyone you meet."
In combat, Naota tends to remain silent under the motto 'I'm not here to talk with you. If I am sent to the front line, then my orders are clear: I am to end your life by any means necesary, even if it costs me my own." In his eyes, the people who boast in battle annoy him greatly, often to the point of him breaking his code of silence to scream at them to shut up and let thier skills do the talking. In battle, he often forgos speaking a jutsu's name, just to throw his opponent's off balance or even weaving false hand seals to confuse an opponent.
Likes:"What... is that delicious smell?!"
Naota loves food. He's willing to try any dish once, and will be forever hook on it if he likes it. His favorite thing to do while on his days 'off' is to wander around the village and browse the food stalls, sampling and trying thier dishes. He's so well known that the food vendors often ask him to try out thier latest creations. With this being said, he's an avid cook himself, expirementing with different tastes that he likes, and serving them to family and friends.
"I'll take this, this, oh and this..."
Naota is a habitual collector. He can and will collect anything he can, ranging from small oddly colored rocks to collections of entire books series. Not that he's a ninja, and therefor has a source of income, he wishes to become a weapons collector, wether through purchasing them, or lifting them off enemies.
"People.. never cease to amaze me."
Naota is a bit of a people watcher. Often after visiting the local food vendors, he takes a plate of whatever dish he scored that day, and will find a crowded place to sit and just watch the villagers go by. Through doing this, he learned the subtle art of reading people, given thier responses and reactions to others.
Dislikes: "The hell did you just say?"
There are few things that Naota dislikes in this world. The first and foremost is rudeness. While he himself treats everyone he comes across with the utmost respect, it irks him to see someone spit his kindness back in his face. It's one of the few things that will piss him off immediately, to the point of violence. He believes in the 'golden rule'. With this in mind, anyone who disrespects someone else for no real reason should by all means have no problem with him beating thier ass.
"I thought we were supposed to be family?!"
In the same light of people treating others with respect, Naota particularly despises when another Uchiha looks down on him. To him, their words hurt even more than someone not related to him. Naota believes that as family he and his kin should stick together, and help each other rather than putting each other down. It might be a childish mindset, but if you cannot turn to your family for help, then who?
Motivations:"My life is not my own. I live to carry on the dreams of those who came before me so that they become reality for those after me."
Naota's main motivation is one of selfishness; to better himself. This is the reason that he trains constantly, that he pushes himself to go beyond his limits. He wishes to serve himself and his village. He wants to leave a legacy that his children, clan, and friends can be proud of. To this end, will do what it takes to succeed in whatever he decides to pursue. At the same time, he can be considered selfless, being that he's willing to give his own life to protect those around him.
Fears:"what I hold dear? Well, that's easy. It everything I'm afraid to lose."
There is nothing that Naota really fears. With that being said, he has the normal fears that everyone has; the fear of losing people close to him. While many would see this as a normal fear, Naota takes it to a whole new level; his parents are what keep him grounded. His father is his idol in many ways, urging the boy to better himself. His mother is a voice of reason and wisdom in his life, always offering him bits of advice should he ask. To lose them.. well, he'd rather not think about that. While he would not lack for anything if something should happen to them, he is more worried about what would happen to himself.
"I'm probably the worst thing that will ever happen to myself."
It should go without saying that his worst fear is himself. He knows of his clan's violent past, and strives to pull himself away from that. That isnt to say that he doesnt love his kin; but given their past, Naota does not wish for himself to fall victim to the cycle.
History: Naota was born into the Uchiha Clan, his father a well known jounin by the name of Uchiha Takeru . His mother was a medic nin by the name of Uchiha Sakuya. His immediate family is small, consisting of only Naota, his father and mother. The boy's parents raised him in a loving manner, offering Naota everything that he wanted-- for a price. For what the boy wanted, he had to work for. The 'work' came in the form of chores, tests of ability, mental and physical, ranging from simple puzzle solving to physical exercises. The idea was simple: even if the boy did not wish to enroll into ninja academy as his father had done, he would at least be able to defend himself to some degree, as well as having a sense of discipline.
When the boy was around the age of five, he would sit in the family room, listening to his father's exploits as a ninja. Uchiha Takeru was known as Thunder God to his peers, due to his proefficincy with Raiton techiniques. Young Naota began to admire his father's abilities, even quietly dubbing himself "Young Thunder". In the boys mind, he wanted to emulate his father in every way possible, even going so far as mimicing his father's way of speaking. And so he asked his father to teach him how to be a ninja.
To Takeru, that was green light so to speak. The very next morning, he began Naota's training. They began early in the morning, With Takeru teaching Naota how to focus his chakra, and use it for basic attacking: Chakra enhanced taijutsu, bare kicks and punches. Young Naota found that he rather enjoyed the exercise, and asked for a way to better his training. Upon hearing this, his father produced a set training weights, ones that could be strapped to the boy's limbs. These weights weighed five pounds for his wrists, ten pounds for his ankles. They would serve to help strenghten the boy's attacks.
For months the boy trained, under the watchful eye of his father. The boy's strength increased to the point that he was able to wear thirty pounds of weights on each ankle, as well as twenty pounds upon each wrist. His speed also increased to the point that he could cross most distances in the blink of an eye. Through use of chakra paper, it was discovered that Naota held an affinity for Katon as well as Futon. With this in mind, Takeru offered to take Naota camping as a reward for his hardwork, to which Naota agreed happily. Unbeknownst to Naota, Takeru enlisted the aid of a friend to help him with an idea.
One night during the trip, thier camp was attacked. Several men armed to the teeth stormed the camp, capturing Takeru and Naota. As the men searched the camp, one of the men reconized Takeru as someone he'd seen in a previous fight-- a fight in which Takeru had killed the male's father. Taking the oppurtunity for revenge the male began to torture Takeru, even going so far as to castrate the elder Uchiha, all right in front of Naota. With Takeru bleeding out, the male stabbed him in the neck, all the more to kill him faster before turning to Naota. Naota panicked even more than he already was, and awoke his Sharingan and began to struggle. It was then, the Genjutsu was dispelled, revealing that Naota was safe, no more than five feet away from his unharmed father. When questioned as to what happened, Takeru explained that he'd asked his an old teamate to put Naota under a genjutsu that would fool him into believing that they had gone on a camping trip. Knowing that the Sharingan would only awaken in a life or death situation, the Genjutsu was devised to simulate the expirience, and would be broken upon Naota awakening his Sharingan.
With Naota's sharingan awakened Takeru felt it was time to teach the child more advanced techniques, starting with what he considered basic; one of the trademark jutsu of the Uchiha, the Grand Fireball. After teaching Naota the seals, as well as how to control the jutsu once he expelled the flame, Takeru asked Naota to perform it. Naota performed the seals, but to his dismay, he could not produce the flames. Thinking that it was just nerves, Naota tried again. When Naota failed to perform the jutsu again, Takeru theorized that since Naota was able to use the chara paper to find out his chakra typings, maybe he needed a medium through which to channel his chakra. After giving the boy a crash course in Chakra Flow, Takeru handed Naota one of his own weapons fashioned from Chakra metal. Several days after Naota sucessfully set the metal (and nearly himself) on fire, Takeru gave Naota a spool of wire spun from Chakra Metal. The metal was fashioned to be thin, nearly invisible to the naked eye while still being strong enough to support several dozen pounds, and razor sharp. Takeru implanted an idea into Naota; to use the wire to do what he could not, explaining that Naota could use the wires as a medium to perform jutsu. Given that Naota would be able to see the flow of chakra with his Sharingan to copy a jutsu, he would be able to replicate it if he could weave the wire into an appropriate 'mold'.
Armed with these, Takeru decided to allow Naota to train for a few more years before enrolling him in the Ninja Academy at the age of twelve. During his four years in the Academy, Naota was hailed as sort of prodigy to the people around him, due to him using his unique fighting style to overcome his dificulties. To others, notably some elders of his clan, he was a complete failure, unworthy of bearing the name Uchiha. Naota paid no attention to the remarks, choosing to focus on his schoolwork until he graduated.
RP Sample: The boy ran. Not from any one in paticular. He ran just to run. The joy of it, the power he felt as his body was pushed to do better that he was doing. But to the people who could see him, what he was doing was nothing short of amazing. To mere humans, what he was doing could not be done by them. The nin was running up the cliffside, not caring who saw his mild display of power. Step after step carried him further, until he exploded off the edge, his momentum carrying him airborn. The morning air was cool against his bare chest as he rose, black hues momentarily blinded by the rising sun. But what goes up, must come down, and down he came, tucking his arms and legs to maximize his speed. At the last possible moment, he rolled, bringing his feet to the ground, knees bent to absorb the imapct. Once he realized that he he was fine, he uncoiled his legs, releasing the pent up energy, to spring forward again. In the distance, he could see a building, on the other side of what appeared to be a lake, surrounded by the beginings of a forest. Not even bothering to slow down, he continued, his steps carrying him over the lake's surface. The calm surface was no doubt disturbed by his bare feet, as he hydroplaned over it. Almost too soon, he was at the tavern door, moving too fast to stop. And so something had to give, and in this case, it was the tavern door... A leap, with feet outstretched before him to crash against the door, taking the frail wood off its hinges...
