General Description: Not highly remarkable, but for a (male?) ninja his age he is rather pretty. His hair is a mess of red locks that fall to just below his ears, tangling often in the back, and his eyes are a soft shade of green that he's never been a huge fan of. His clothing closely follows his laid back, slacker personality- baggy t-shirts and hoodies, color varying, and shorts that never go farther down then his knees. General grade shinobi sandles cover his feet at all times, as well. As for his body type, he's rather lithe, falling between muscular and thin; he never spends time actually working on his body, and instead it's a natural occurrence of his taijutsu training.

Personality:
When it comes to anything but his training, Nene is a bit... of a slacker. A hot headed slacker, sure, but I digress. He lounges and procrastinates so much that it's a wonder to anyone (but his parents and Momo, who understand him the most) that he made it through the academy and graduated on his first official try. He doesn't take a lot of things seriously enough and it tends to get him in bad positions, more likely to roll his eyes than jump into action when someone has a problem with him or something he's done.
His, really, only saving grace is his loyalty and protective nature towards the people he cares about; mainly Momo and handful of other ninja. THAT'S when his hot headed-ness kicks in, the trait inherited from his mother of the same temperament, and he'll punch ANYONE who bothers anyone important to him. Sure, he's not the most tactful or strategic ninja, but down beneath it all he has a good heart; even if it's generally eclipsed by his glaring apathy.
Finally, when it comes down to it, the midst of battle or anything pertaining to his personal abilities are where he really starts to shine. His teachings as a medical ninja, especially those of his clan, are incredibly important to him and again one of the few things he'll give his all to. He's not shy about his skills or showing them off, and will gladly do so when prompted- he has a right to be proud, after all, with all the dedication he pours into them.
Likes:
Momo, mainly, as well as his clan as a whole and whatever other friends he makes. He's not the easiest to approach when he rolls around like nothing matters to him, so he genuinely cherishes anyone that actually looks past that shell and focuses on his few better aspects.
On a more shallow note, pretty girls and boys get him a bit fired up; his attraction to people doesn't define him enough to be a personality trait, but damn, he is a guy, after all. (Probably.)
He's always up for anything that has caffeine in it, and the extra energy definitely helps him out. Tea, espresso, et cetera. He'll gladly join you for some if you offer, and might even bring you along some times to enjoy it with him, himself.
Not to be too stereotypical, but he is a fan of ramen and soba noodles; really, anything that has any kind of noodles or pasta involved and he's game. Despairingly for his parents it makes up the most of his diet, and he never seems to get enough of the stuff. Obviously, it's really not good for him, but he doesn't
care.

Dislikes:
Wanna talk about dislikes? Don't insult, hurt, annoy, hell, don't do anything even remotely negative to any of his friends or family. He probably doesn't have it in him to kill you, but he WILL mess up your face something fierce. As a big red "DON'T" button, you won't want to mention or touch on the Momo subject in anything but a caring tone; he can't promise you your life any further past that point, and he's dangerously protective of her in general.
Also, man, don't insult his skills as a ninja. You really wouldn't want to mention that he's not strong enough, yet, to pull off any incredible feats with his medical jutsu or his taijutsu. He's trying, and if you undervalue any of his passion towards the art he'll make it known, brutally, that he doesn't appreciate your opinion.
Spirits of any kind as well as weed are things he's not going to touch on, no matter how kindly you ask or offer him. He's seen what that shit can do to people, seen the guys kicked out of the clan house for cheating on their spouses while under the influence and the drunkards stumbling around alleys at night. He doesn't make good decisions, generally, but he has the mind to stay out of shit he knows is too over the line.
He doesn't like fish. Any kind of fish. Sushi, sashimi, fried, grilled, whatever you can come up with to prepare it; he despises the smell, the taste and the texture of every bit of seafood he's tried to stomach down.
Don't frickin' call him Usagi.
Motivations:
Momo, and his own weakness. He's never going to feel helpless like he did when she was hurt- never again. He's going to be there, and he's going to do all he can, and he WILL be able to do something. He's devoted a good ~six years to perfecting his skills, and despite the fact that he's only a Genin he's not a pushover; especially thanks to his clan's teachings. He's proud of his power and he wants it to grow, grow enough so that he won't have to be put in that position. Grow enough so that he'd be able to stop it from happening in the first place.
Not to mention his clan's innate pride on top of everything else; there's no way in hell he's letting his mother or any of his clansmen down by being less than the best he can possibly be, so he will continue to strive to shine in all of their eyes... even if he does it in awkward ways, such as focusing on only the things that will show him off the most. (combat exercises, and focusing on brawling missions over anything genuinely helpful and mentally productive.)

History:
Usagi never wanted to be a medical ninja. The cool demeanor and precise chakra control needed were things he didn't care for. Blood always made him uneasy, and don't even think about exposing him to gore. He knew he never had much of a choice, being a member (and the heir at that) to the Tsuguren clan; at the very least he'd get to look cool, flying around the battlefield with his radical taijutsu moves and super strength, right? He'd be... a super hero. The kind he always saw on TV during his Saturday morning cartoons. He could help people without being a dumb support character.
Life never turns out exactly how you expect, nor want it to.
Nene's mother was hot blooded, a real pushy, loud gal as well as the leader of the Tsuguren clan as a whole. Nene's father, however, was quite the opposite- chill, relaxed, happy-go-lucky; they were a perfect match for each other. He did whatever he could to make her happy and comfortable, while at the same time not being a pushover and in so balancing her out. Considering she could shatter his body in one blow that was a very good course of actions on his part. They fell in love, like people do, and years later had a child.
Nene, born as Usagi, was never content with the name. Ever. He responded to it when he was a baby and toddler, sure, but when he got old enough to enter the academy- that was when the mean comments and teasing found their way into his head. What kind of self-respecting 7 year old boy would be happy with a name depicting such a frail, gentle creature? God, the bullying at the hands of the other males drove him mad; he came home crying one day to his father (worried telling his mother about his troubles would cause her to take action) and almost left the academy for it. Kids could be real assholes when they put their minds to it.
One person, a girl, however, reached out to him and told the other kids to back off. Her name was Momo, and would soon become Nene's best friend; and the one who gave him the name in the first place. Lord knows where children pick their nicknames from, but knowing how 'Usagi' upset him she spent an entire afternoon thinking of something. Despairingly she settled on something not very masculine nor different, but the light in her eyes as she told him it and asked if he liked it made him unable to disagree. "Our names have the same number of beats, now! We could be brother and sister, Nene!"
The bullying never ceased, and instead actually increased, after Momo went around informing everyone of his new name. Nene however didn't care anymore- instead, he fought back, spitting and throwing punches at anyone who insulted the nickname his best friend, his sister, hmn? spent an entire afternoon coming up for with him. It was a nice respite from being called a rabbit at least, and he took pleasure in the fact that his new name really didn't mean... anything.
So that was how his name came to be, but what about his change in attitude? Why would he have specialized so intensely in medical based jutsu when he had the strength of a hundred men at his fingertips (or rather, fists) thanks to his clan's teaching?
Not all kids were content with picking on the young boy, no, of course not. How dare Momo ruin all their fun- they had found great joy in mercilessly teasing Usagi before he had a newfound purpose with the name Nene, and the girl was the sole blame for all the bruisers and scratches left on their bodies. Now it was just a bother, and they figured if they had her out of the picture, made her stop supporting him, Nene would go back to just being Usagi and another victim for the hordes of faceless academy bullies.
You never give heartless children sharp objects and magical force to play with and expect good results. Momo ended up badly hurt that day, suffering from a concussion and bleeding from several limbs, not to mention the various struggle wounds strewn across her small body. They all missed graduation that day, only Nene and a few others present to pass onto the Genin stage of their shinobi lifestyles. He was worried, of course, Momo never said she was going anywhere else and wouldn't just skip out on an event like this regardless- even if she wouldn't have passed, she would have been there to see him go up. Later it was all over the news, the streets, the whispering by the parents and teachers. She had to stay in intensive care for days, a victim of relentless assault and left to die in an alleyway. The six or so students responsible were smartly reprimanded, of course, and would never be able to move on in life to anything of value; but that didn't change the image burned into Nene's mind, his best friend's beaten up body laid out on a hospital bed and him helpless to do anything about it.
He'd never be put in that position again.

It was hot, oddly enough, but God that's why he hates summer so much. You'd think living up here in Kumo would make it all easier on him, but Nene had to strongly disagree that it was much different than living anywhere else during such a peak point of the season. He was sweating through his shirt, stretched out on a couch and flicking his gaze over the wet spots forming around his pits with unmotivated malice. He supposes he could go out for ice cream or something, but really, that would involve getting up and it was way too damn hot for that. He idled himself with fanning his face and counting all the bumps that made up the ceiling, a frown tugging at his lips.
"Momo should be back by now..." He muttered, tone bored and maybe just a tiny bit annoyed. He could never actually be irritated with Momo, not with how much she means to him, but she definitely should have been back at his house by this point; she was almost ten minutes late! He actually almost got up to look for her, a small bit of panic kicking in in the back of his mind. It was unnecessary of course, considering she was long able to take care of herself after graduating and diving into her Genin career. Still, he's never been able to get rid of the worry he felt over her, any time she was even just a little bit off in showing up to a predefined place causing him to become antsy.
He had to take a few minutes to reason himself, focusing once again on the plaster of his house and using the heat to distract himself; succeeding mostly in tiring himself out to the point that his eyes began to droop in the lazy summer temperature, lips parting with a sheepish sigh. He could almost hear banging and knocking, footsteps, even, breaking through the haze his exhausted mind had conjured up; before long, the sounds halted and he felt something like knuckles pressing into his hair and messing it up.
"Wake up, sleepyhead! I brought ice~!"
