Long ago, beyond the memories of the locals and lost deep in the annals of history; Makkura was nothing but a humble farming village; thriving and surrounded by fields of golden wheat and paddies full of rice. Overtime, they profited and prospered via trade with the city of Hana to the west; but after a time the city folk grew mistrustful. They saw the growing village as a threat; and decided to do something about it. A regime of less then moral people had taken control, and a decision was made; the people of Makkura would make for excellent scientific experiments. Hana poisoned their crops and left them desperate for help; which was offered. Tainted food and goods where delivered; and the decent into the lawless anarchy began. Mutations arouse; rebellions began; and eventually the plot by the regime was discovered. The people wanted nothing to do with Makkura; so they sealed the village away behind a fog of shadows and death; left to fend for itself. However, the village has started the process of being rebuilt into the greatness that it once was, under new leadership of a different sort.
