Like the Phoenix rising from the ashes; the ancient village of Kumogakure has returned from the dead and revived back into the vibrant power it once was. The old Land of Lightning had fallen, replaced by a new land, the Land Hidden in The Sea of Clouds; bringing with it fresh outlook on life in this new world, while maintaining the traditions and power of the old world.

Covering much of the mountain range that cradles the ancient village; the cloud sea is just as the name suggests; a sea of clouds on which the airships of the world sail like the water ships of old. Small villages dot the mountain tops, inaccessible save for the air ports that the ships travel between. Great thunderstorms break the tranquility of the sea at random, and the roars of monsters and dragons hiding out of site echo through the region.

Extending from the waterfall at the bottom of the valley that hides and protects the village of Kumo; the lowland plains and grasslands exist below the vast sea of clouds that surrounds the village. The sun shines brightly here year round, with the heat from the volcano that feeds the cloud sea keeping the air and ground plesantly warm year round. Fertile soil and thriving ecosystems support massive populations of wild game and unique animals.
