Hinowagakure sits in the center of a sea sized lake that is surrounded by many active volcanoes. It sits on top of the ruins of Korigakure, which was destroyed by such large amounts of heat that it created a very warm climate amidst the outer tundra that surrounds it. Founded by three survivors of Denryuu the village was built with beauty in mind; and beauty resides around every corner. The village is build both above and below the sea sized lake, making it inhabitable by all. The volcano's sized mountains not only act as a natural barrier against the freezing cold temperatures that rage outside of it, but the volcano's also act as a natural heat source, keeping both the air and the water within the bowl of volcanoes warm.

The wintery northlands that few travel; the snow and ice that cover the lands are ancient in ways few human minds can comprehend. This place has seemingly always existed; wild and untamed even by the few tribes of humans and hardy animals that exist here. Korigakure hugs the warmer coastal lands, a testament to the hardy nature of those that manage a comfortable living in this place.
