To use jutsu you don’t need to spend countless posts weaving hand seals. It’s all about the action. However, you do have to app for the jutsu you wish to have. You apply for the jutsu in the Registration area, and once it’s approved you can train it and once the training is approved and the jutsu has been paid for you can then move it into your List.

Please note that the jutsu you can use depends on the rank of your character. Weapon Technician Specialty are further restricted in jutsu ability and numbers; which will be explained a little later in this guide.

While you're overall limited to the rank of jutsu you can use via your rank:

Genin: D, C
Chuunin: D, C, B
Special Jounin: D, C, B, A
Jounin ( A ): D, C, B, A, S
Jounin ( S ) / Kage: D, C, B, A, S, SS

You can now use a set number jutsu above what rank you would be allowed.You will be allowed have 1-3 jutsu outside of what your current rank allows. Be aware that using any of these jutsu outside of your rank will cost you double the amount of chakra.

Genin/Chuunin: Can use up to and including A ranked jutsu
Special Jounin / Jounin ( A ): Can use up to and including SS ranked jutsu.

The overall restriction on jutsu has been lifted outside of the prementioned rules. The only limit to jutsu that stands is for S/SS ranked jutsu.

Depending on the rank of the jutsu you’re training depends on the cost and word count you’ll need. This is the same even if you’re being trained by a sensei.

• D rank: 150 Ryo + 750 words

• A rank: 300 Ryo + 2000 words
  
• S rank: 500 Ryo + 2500 words

When you start a character, you'll be given a set number of starting freebie jutsu. These exist outside of clan-given freebies; you start with all jutsu on your clan sheet, these, and any other freebies you receive for whatever reason.

Genin: 2D, 3C (5 Total)
Chuunin: 2D, 4C, 2B (8 Total)
Special Jounin: 2D, 4C, 4B, 2A (12 Total)
Jounin A: 4D, 4C, 4B, 3A, 1S (16 Total)

For existing players that are returning after a long absence, the number of freebies has changed. You now get a bunch of new freebies to bring you up to speed with everyone else. The number you get is determined by your current rank, and spelled out below.

Special Jounin: 2D, 2C, 2B, 1A (7 Total)

You too will be able to take all freebies mentioned upon ranking up. This means that each time you rank up a few more freebies will become available to you that will keep you even with the freebies you would have been alloted if you had started off at that rank.

If you’re using a prolonged jutsu you may have to pay an additional cost of chakra for each post your jutsu continues.

Chakra is based on your characters rank, though it can be increased due to certain clans, and other circumstances. If you get down below 15 Chakra your character will be extremely fatigued, if you reach 0 chakra and your character does not received medical attention immediately (Within 3 posts unless otherwise stated) you will die.

Now as you know, your rank determines the amount of chakra you are able to use at any given time. Each rank comes with a set, base amount of chakra, which through various means may be expanded upon to set degree.

The bases are as follows:

Genin - 200 chakra
Chuunin - 300 chakra
Special Jounin - 400 chakra
A-Rank Jounin - 500 chakra
Kage/ S-rank Jounin - 600 chakra

So the basic system is that you start at base 200 chakra, and gain an even 100 chakra per rank up.

These amounts are not set in stone. As you rank up, you are able to raise your chakra by a maximum of 50 per each rank up you achieve. So in total; you may gain up to an addition 250 chakra by the time you reach S-rank, for a maximum of 850 chakra. Additional chakra will be awarded via chakra beast sealing or special events; unless the staff feels that the basic caps should be raised. The current maximum cap for chakra is in the air, as we're having some issues with people gaining huge amounts of event chakra legally, then taming Bijuu and shattering the old cap. However, because the extra chakra was gained legally, we're not in a position to deny it. So, for the moment, there is no stated maximum cap for chakra, however we will place limits within the realms of reason.

In order to gain the larger chakra pools, you will need to undergo specific training; outside of all other training. Normally you are able to combine several training types into one thread, so long as you maintain the required word counts, however in this case the training to gain more chakra must be done completely separately. When training for chakra pool upgrades, you must title the thread properly; much as you would any other training or a mission.

You are able to train up to the amount of chakra you're able to gain at your rank. A Genin would only be able to train for 50 chakra; where as an A-Rank Jounin could train 150 chakra all at once. The word counts for training do compound, so it can get a bit heavy to train all at once at higher ranks.

For each 50 chakra you train, you are required to complete 1500 words of training. That means that for each level of chakra, you would need:

Genin- 50 chakra: 1500 words
Chuunin- 100 chakra: 3000 words
Special Jounin- 150 chakra: 4500 words
Jounin (A) 200 chakra: 6000 words
Jounin (S) 250 chakra: 7500 words.

Also be aware: anytime you use a jutsu in a thread or fight, you MUST post the coding for the jutsu, as well as your remaining chakra/full chakra in a spoiler at the bottom of the post. Once you start using jutsu, the chakra must be posted at the end of each post in order to keep track of your current levels.
