Clan History: The Senju clan (千手一族, Senju Ichizoku) was a group of shinobi that were the strongest, feared and most respected clan above all other clans in the ninja world during the war-torn era before the founding of the hidden villages.

The clan descended from the younger of the two sons of the Sage of the Six Paths who was born with the "body" of the Sage, inheriting his father's life force, physical energy, and believed that love was the key to bringing peace to the world. The Sage grew to favor the ideals of his younger son over those of his older son, who believed that power alone was the true key to finding peace. Therefore, on his deathbed it was the younger of the two brothers that the Sage chose to name as his successor. The elder brother, bitter and hateful at having being denied what he felt was rightfully his to inherit, attacked his younger sibling. The Uchiha clan would descend from the elder brother, resulting in the bitter centuries-long rivalry between the Senju and the Uchiha.[4] While undisputed, the Senju's legendary rivalry with Uchiha clan was taken advantage of by countries that hire their services.

The Senju clan gained their fame in the era before the founding of the hidden villages. Where other clans focused on mastering one particular set of skills, the Senju were prodigious in all skills, from ninjutsu, to taijutsu, and genjutsu. Because of this, they were known as "the clan with a thousand skills" (「千の手を持つ一族」, "sen no te o motsu ichizoku"), which gave them their name "Senju" (千手; Literally meaning ""a thousand skills", "a thousand hands"").

Settling and founding the village of Konoha; the Senju enjoyed generations of fame and power; many of the early Hokage where of the Senju clan. However, the clan itself dwindled in numbers and eventually lost it's place in the spotlight; as many began to believe the clan itself had died off or been integrated fully into other, more populous clans. The few remaining clan members lived quiet lives of little importance; only showing off their skills and talents when absolutely needed. It was a surprise to nearly all then, when at the beginning of the exodus from Konoha during the plague epidemic that a large number of fully trained and highly skilled Senju appeared seemingly from nowhere; ready and able to help. From this small army of Senju the Shinobku Spirit Tree and the forests of Niwaurushi where created. The effort of the forest's creation left the clan decimated once more; and the survivors have since faded back into obscurity; most living peaceful lives deep within the forest itself; with smaller family lines living in the countryside of Hanagakure.

Kekkei Genkai Description: Wood Release is an advanced nature kekkei genkai formed through simultaneous use of earth and water-based chakra natures to create wood, or complete trees. This ability can also be used to create other aspects of trees, such as seeds or even flowering plants. Wood Release techniques can be produced from anywhere, including the user's body, as the user's chakra is literally converted into a source of life.

Drawbacks: Mokuton may only be a third element, and must be trained and unlocked as such. However, Mokuton is not limited in ranking as third elements normally are; users of Mokuton are able to use the element up to maximum ranking (Currently SS). The clan does not receive any free jutsu; and all Mokuton jutsu must be learned via training or event prize.
