After the Scarlet Witch lost it, warping reality in the process and creating a new Sigmaverse, the proverbial %@#% hit the fan when a powerful new terrorist named Tempus launched simultaneous attacks on New York and San Francisco. With a bit of cunning mental manipulation she pitted Captain America, Spider-Man, Iceman and Flux against civilians and policemen alike. In the end the heroes committed multiple counts of manslaughter and have been taken into custody. In the wake of the unwitting atrocities they have committed, a traumatized society demands action and cries out for protection. Enter the Super Power Registration Act and Proposition X, as well as a failed legacy virus prototype and increasing anxiety over what the future holds…

With Captain America at trial and Xendra Stark preoccupied with the repercussions of it all, the remainder of the Avengers encounter the Skrulls. First battling them off of the coast of Louisiana and then in low-Earth orbit they win, but as many escape are left to wonder if it’s really over?

Max Eisenhardt, Headmaster of the Xavier School initiates the X-Initiative alongside Scott Summers and Jean Grey to aid in apprehending Tempus in an attempt to show the public that mutants can be good as well as evil. However, fearing the risk to the lives of those he has sworn to protect, he has closed the school. 

Genosha is swept clean of its Ruling Council! Mysteriously absent an ancient mutant named Tao, begins the process of healing the battered and brutalized mutant population, while promising co-existence for all. Elsewhere upon the nearby continent of Africa, half a dozen corrupt regimes fall in the span of half a day, as the most brutal warmongers die horrific deaths. A sign of things to come...?!

The old expression, ‘May you live in interesting times.’ has never been more fitting. Come leave your mark on a world in turmoil!
