Clan History:
Originating in Iwagakure, this special clan moved to Yokuichi after its abandonment. They've always been revered and envied; who wouldn't think so highly of such a thing? A group with the ability to create explosions wherever and whenever they wanted? They were treated like gods in all aspects of the phrase. Feared as much as they were worshipped, it obviously got a bit to their heads. They'd show off constantly and always bring up the name of their clan when they got talked down to or disrespected in any way. The Haretsu clan, you could say, is very prideful and impartial to being looked down on.

It was only when things got a bit too hectic one day and a building was blown apart that the concerned elders stepped in and banned the use of the explosion release inside the confines of Yokuichigakure. The children from young adult to academy students threw fits while the actual adults breathed a sigh of relief. Some were unhappy, yes, and refused to listen to the council of the village... These are the vagabonds, the black sheep of the family. While the clan does think highly of themselves they aren't generally idiots and know to respect authority when respect is due. They don't rule the world just yet. Just about all ne'er-do-wells that continued to practice the pure, unrestrained art were locked in a chakra dampening complex for their lives. Explosives aren't a toy. They are not a thing to take lightly or to mess around with, and the clan soon learned that lesson.

They decided to be constructive for once and make the better of this situation. The problem wasn't their destructive chakra, really, it was the wild power of it in action. All they needed to do was be a bit... Creative. That's how they came across using clay art as a medium, the only quickly craftable and compatible conduit substance they could find. With the approval of the elders they did just that, turning what was a rather uncontrollable kekkai genkai into something that they had complete reign over. While still thinking themselves superior and their art more significant than any other creations in the world they pulled back the showing off just a little.

All generations of Haretsu are now taught this original fighting style, creating clay bombs instead of outright blowing shit up, and have it beaten into them not to use the ability without the constraining medium.

Kekkei Genkai: Bakuton (Explosion Release)| Explosive Clay
Kekkei Genkai Description: Bakuton, simply put, is an advanced nature release that creates explosions. Not hard to follow, right? These explosions aren't exactly katon in nature as the explosions are less fiery than they are... Destructive. Most uses of this nature involve flashes of a red-colored light that leaves disintegration in its path. This is the purest form of Bakuton, and the most dangerous. Only high-ranked ninja are able to utilize something as powerful as that, and as such, this specific branch of Bakuton users focused on something more suited to them. Harnessing the power of clay they mixed their chakra in with it using this chakra nature, creating symbiotic clay bombs. Most take after an animal or such, allowing movement so that the area of the blast can be controlled. Though this is the path the clan chose to take it is still possible to use the base form of Bokuton to fight with; but that's on the ninja in the clan to deal with themselves. And who doesn't love playing with clay, anyways?

Drawbacks:

• Though they are born with artistic and creative natures, they still have to take a good moment inside of battle to create the clay creatures they use for their explosive attacks. All jutsu involving clay creations have a turn of charge required, giving them all a one post delay before they can be used as they're crafted. (Only exceptions to this rule are non-combat topics.)
  
• Running Raiton through the clay will completely disarm the explosions as well as cut off the control the Haretsu member has over them, rendering them useless. Any Raiton jutsu d-rank or higher can do this.
  
• Clay bombs hit by Suiton will be slowed by half their original speed for the length of their duration, becoming all muddy and sluggish.
  
• Explosions don't discriminate. If you or your friends get caught in the blast; oh well, it happens. Enjoy the afterlife, sucker.
  
• All non-explosive clay based jutsu are at the complete mercy of the moderating staff. I refuse to endorse the use of pure explosive chakra. Be warned, however; using that has the chance of destroying yourself just as much as it does your opponent.

Description: The Haretsu clan's most basic and versatile form of explosive clay. These are small animated dolls that often resemble animals, no larger than the palm of the user's hand. Depending upon which variation is created, they will retain the abilities of the creatures they where modeled after, i.e. those resembling birds can still fly. This feature combined with their little independent explosive power makes them excellent for covert operations. After taking a turn to craft this jutsu the animal clone created is imbued with explosive chakra and set forth at the opponent. The creator of the clay minion seems to have a weak telepathic connection with it; movement orders are the only things it really understands and it doesn't have the life to respond back. This allows the creator to conduct the actions of the bombs and set them up for maximum damage. The user of this jutsu may make up to two bomb creatures in a post, and they last a single post before exploding. Each creature takes 1 pound of clay to make. All explosions have a four feet circular diameter and are strong enough to burn through cloth and painfully singe skin. All creatures can move at a max speed of 2.2mph, or one meter a second. Can be detonated at any time throughout the single post duration. Merely scorches and cracks stronger elements such as stone.

Description: This jutsu is an upgrade of the C1 bombing technique. Using five pounds of clay a large flying animal, generally a bird or dragon, can be created and ridden on. As always, a one post period is necessary for the creation of this creature. Due to the size and time needed for just one of them, there can only be one created a post. The telepathic link is strong enough at this level to include combat-based commands, such as dodging and swooping, rather than just simplistic movement ones. Clay bombs created by this jutsu can move at a maximum speed of 6.7mph, or three meters a second. The explosion diameter is fifteen feet in total, and is strong enough to cause second degree burns on flesh. (Destroying flimsier clothing in the process.) Can be detonated any time within the four post duration. Can easily dent objects such as brick/rocks/etc. and even destroy them if they're right next to the center of the explosion.
