With the giant fireball that used to be Korigakure still raging behind them, The giant phoenix with Alec as a passenger began flying back toward The Land of Shadows. Jr was pretty sure this was the act that would put The Dark back on the map and make Makkura once again a notorious and feared area of the world. He heard it had been Mitsukai, who was really his niece Amaranth, and the blind dude Holeman who'd went and discovered the place, and was sure there would be some arguing in the future, but he'd deal with that when the time came.

Many below could see the giant glowing bird flying above, and could only wonder what the hell that was. It illuminated the areas it flew over, bathing everywhere in the color orange. Jr wished he was in Niwa to see the look on that dog man Kenta's face once he found out that the same kid who stormed out of that meeting room several days earlier was the same kid who'd leveled a whole village in one shot. Nothing special, he said. 'Golden General,' he said. Jr could guess the man hadn't done anything even remotely as powerful as Jr had just casually done back there.

The snowfall ended, and soon the Phoenix was re-entering The Land of Shadows...
