Juno held a scroll of paper in her hand, making her way towards the Administration Complex of Hinowagakure. It had been a week since she came back and almost having a nervous breakdown before forcing herself to take it like a man and suck it up. As of now, she was living with her family again. They're stronger than ever, seeing how their resolve to help protect the village has hardened over the recent failure.

She was sick of the morale boost, though. There's a difference between a good raising of faith and utter nationalism with obnoxious pledging, and Juno just found out her relatives had a tendency to go with the latter. It drove her mad while she was trying to get some sleep, her crazy cousins out doing intense training and the adults yelling oath to the clan and the elders fiercely debating at three in the fucking morning. So after an entire seven days of going through the same nonsense, the 'officially-a-genin-but-believe-me-I-WILL-haul-your-ass-in-a-fight' Genin decided to pack up and do the paperwork for her own flat.

Juno was never one for warmth. She was stone cold Russian when it came to her preferred temperature, so it should be no surprise that she chose an apartment room that still constituted as 'in the village', but was nearest the frozen tundra and it's training fields. Found in a nice little corner of the town, it's where the dirt road started connecting to the paved, leading to small towns outside in the colder area. The building, as she scouted, was vertically built, and she got the eighth floor, which was the highest. It also allows easy access to the rooftops for missions, as it's above most of the houses there.

With a sigh, she moved towards the entrance to the Complex, still somewhat depressed at the change of environment, but not so much that it was absolutely apparent. Additionally, she got up kind of late, so her face looked miserable and tired, not due to emotions, but because she hated the sun in her waking moments.

She was actually in the office she'd been given to use when she wasn't off doing something in the village, or in one of the greenhouses working on saving plants. Or in the bay exploring. That was becoming her new pass time, what with her being the least busy of the three of them. She was no leader, not on the level of a village; she did her share of the paperwork then went out to do things. That would change soon enough; she was planning on studying up on Medical Ninjutsu soon, so she could be of help where her clan abilities where of most use now; in the hospital and on the battlefield. She was a warrior at heart; but healing as something that ran in the family; or at least the study of the medical arts.

Hell, she was even starting to borrow books on the subject; nothing to intense, mostly field medicine and first aide to get her started before she really focused on something. They where mixed in with the various botany books they've saved from the former village, and what she'd bought before they left Niwaurushi. Plenty to keep her busy, yep. Sprawl out in her underwater office, windows sealed but still open in a way to the crystal clear bay and the fast growing kelp forests and seeded reefs taking hold once more. Not quite Denryuu... but it would do.

The front desk pointed out that she had to go directly to the kage's meeting room. It was strange, seeing the difference in government. Hiromasa tended to let her take all the work, and it was all just paperwork being mailed and shipped into the kage's room like ammunition to an army. Here, the higher-up played a more active role, and also got to judge the character of the client. She supposed it was a good change, all things considered.

As she made her way up the stairs, towards one of the council room, the worse of her luck got to her. Juno took a bad slip on a step, causing her to bump her body into several other steps until she was at the bottom of the staircase again. Luckily, she wasn't dead. That would be disgraceful. It left her holding back surprise tears due to the sharp hit to her funny bone, and her Kori headband dropped out of her pocket. Additionally, she took a hit to the back that was also where she previously injured herself, so she had to grit her teeth for that.

It was in this state that Juno entered Mizuko's room, with shaky steps, glassy eyes, and gritting teeth. She held her scroll filled with the paperwork required to move into another house in her left hand, holding the old headband by it's cloth with her other. "E-Excuse me... ma'am... I was told I could find you here..." The last part came out a bit depressingly, solely on accident. "Hinowakage-s-sama." She didn't recognize the older kunoichi as she was busy focusing on the pain in her spine.

Oh lord, what was this now? Visitor; one of the survivors from the old village by the looks of it. Hell, old Kori headband in hand; what a sight. Was that tears in her eyes? Strange way to enter a room; maybe bad memo-... wait; that was a look of pain? Even stranger. "Er, you okay? Seem to be having some issues, there." Oh yeah, shitastic people skills for the win. Hinowakage... ew. Is that what the people where calling them now? Nope; did not like. They weren't Kages; not in the traditional sense; and so long as they lived, the people of Hinowa wouldn't be forced into a totalitarian rule. Granted, her former Kage had been a good guy, and from what she'd seen of the forest people, they had a nice enough person in charge; but the idea of a single ruler didn't sit right with them anymore. This was a place of survivors and many different peoples all living together; there was no way for any single person to rule that effectively without someone being marginalized. "And please... just Mizuko, if you please. I'm no Kage, we lead via council; we're not dictators. can I... help you with something?"

"...I fell down a flight of stairs, bloody things." She sucked up her pain and straightened herself, sighing. "Sorry if it looked like I was just forced to kill my entire family. Wait a second..." Juno tilted her head in confusion. Wasn't she... "Aren't you that one lass that I met in the greenhouse? Mizuko, wasn't it?" She was one of the last people Juno saw before leaving for the summit, so it was a fresh memory. Either way, that didn't matter. Keep face, remember to keep face, you stupid girl! "S-Sorry, Kage-sama..." Juno apologized. She was getting off track.

Clearing her throat, the Genin put the scroll on her desk, looking away with the decency to blush. The professional wasn't quite used to coming up to the kage so formally; most of the time, she'd just talk to Hiromasa about it personally and get things done. She pushed the embarrassment back down and looked her new leader in the eye, suddenly getting tense. "Due to familial and personal circumstances during my time of out-of-nation duties, I, Juno Umgekehrtnacht, humbly request the approved permission to legally detach myself from my clan and live independently within the Eastern sector."

Ah, made sense. The stairs could be a bit slick because of all the moisture in the air, and the occasional leaks that just made the Denryuu natives feel at home. "It's fine. And yes, that was me slowly freezing to death; it was sheer luck I wasn't here when the beasts attacked. I'd gone south not... 10 hours after that little meeting broke up; was down in Niwaurushi when everything happened. Ending up back here was just as random; but that's for another time."

So, the girl wanted to bail from her clan? Huh, odd to be asking the leadership for permission; most clan kids would do that for a while when they were teens and young adults; go live on their own for a while. "I don't see why this would be an issue; so long as you have means to support yourself. Given your rank, that might be a tad difficult as Genin don't make much coin. How do you plan on providing for yourself, outside of missions and such?"
