Makkuragakure's history has been a rather dark and bleak one. What started out as the makings of a beautiful village was quickly destroyed by Hanagakure as the village quickly began to mistreat those in Makkuragakure. Crops were poisoned and experimented on, people went missing only to later show up mutated or dead - or even to not show back up at all, and in the end Makkuragakure had no choice but to rely on those in Hanagakure - all while being unaware at that time of it all being Hanagakure's fault.

The village of Makkuragakure became over-run with the mutated, criminals, thieves, rapists: all the low-life scum of the world that had no other place to go. Hanagakure quickly turned its back on the village as well, cutting off all ties to keep its name 'clean' and to keep it free from the association of Makkuragakure. The village fell into despair and hopelessness for years upon years to come: even the Tower which was completed with a lab, airship hanger, and libraries full of knowledge, was abandoned after a while, experiments left to rot and survive on their own, and technology that had been brewing left to be forgotten as the Tower was sealed up and unable to be entered.

Years would pass until a man and a woman, Alec Kane and Avery Tatsumaki, came upon the village. Alec Kane was labeled by that point a missing-nin who had come from the village of Hanagakure and after being unhappy with their responses to the mild violence he had caused (which was to say no response at all) he bombed the village several times - as well as participated in other criminal activity. Makkura was filled with thieves and criminals and yet the duo saw promise in the ability to fix up the village.

Alec Kane and Avery Tatsumaki quickly proved themselves in a quick fight against some of the criminals in the village - which vowed to be loyal to them upon realizing how strong they were. The duo then began to fix up the village in the weeks to come - especially as more of the Kane family showed up to help out. During this time period The Dark was formed and recruitment started. A Kuraikage was finally named, Demi Kane who quickly passed the title on to Avery Tatsumaki, and Makkura became the village it hadn't been for a long time to come.

The Dark grew in popularity, the name spreading to every village. Makkuragakure changed from a village to be pushed around into one of the power houses of the world: with the Tower (which Alec Kane had been able to open) acting as the headquarters.

As the years passed and things quieted down a man known as Saito attempted to take control over the village while the Kanes, and Avery were on vacation. Upon returning Saito was quickly killed - the man proving that he knew nothing of the village he was trying to be in control over - and a new power came to be as Avery declined the hat again: thus Junior Kane became the new Kuraikage.

A Kage Summit was underway which he quickly went to, and after a rather fiesty exchange between Kenta Inuzuka - retired Hokage/Hakage - Junior Kane returned with his guards to Makkuragakure. War, which everyone had seemed on the verge of, was quickly averted since the Kane's had young family living in Niwa.

However... what the future holds is anyone's guess at this point....
