The Kouyakage moved very solemnly through the street as he thought about the meeting that was ahead of him. The elders 'wanted to speak with him', which was never a good thing. He could understand why though. He had become a bit reclusive after the fight with Kinzoku. He constantly questioned himself and he just didn't feel up to the task of being Kage anymore. He knew it, but they probably did as well. His face was worn with stress and the self esteem that was once great was now nonexistent. His white robes and hat moved gently as the breeze ran through them. He wasn't far now, as the door was in sight. A sigh would escape his lips as he walked up and was let inside. On the floor in traditional seating were the three elders. 

"You wanted to speak?" He asked respectfully. The one in the middle cleared his throat and looked very stern, confirming what Strafe already knew. He had plenty of connections and knew that the elders were looking to replace him. Now he was just hearing it. "It's the opinion of the three of us that you are no longer fit to run the village. We are asking for your retirement so that we can choose a successor. You have given a valiant effort as Kage and helped the village in many ways, however it is time for the village to have new leadership." The man finished speaking and waited for Strafe's response. He was probably expecting some sort of anger or rudeness to come from the Takeda, but he would be surprised.

"I have to agree. It's more than time I stepped down and enjoy what's left of my life. I want no part in the selection process or in any of the other duties of a former Kage. My one stipulation is that I can go into the desert and live alone in peace. If you send people after me, I will refuse and kill them if I must. That is all I have to say on the matter." He spoke very calmly. It was as if a weight was being lifted off of his shoulders, and he was more than happy about it. "If that is what you wish, it will be so. Thank you for your service. That is all." The man spoke with a surprised tone, but it quickly changed to one of understanding. If they hadn't forced Strafe to retire, he would have done it on his own before long.

Strafe nodded and took off the robe and hat. He let them fall to the floor in a pile and left the building. He was now free of the stress and anxiety that had ruled his life for so long. It was time to go find Hisoka. He wanted a place that was secretive and that very few knew how to navigate. The Fennec Valley was exactly that and it was time he had some peace and quiet. The Kage would dart of at blistering speeds, disappearing from the village and all the people in it for good.
