The Market District. It smelled a lot like fish, raw and cooked. Fish must have been the main source of meat for the village, being out here in all of this snow, ice and glaciers. There were bars and restaurants in the area too. Alec imagined himself staying here for years, becoming friendly with the other business owners in the vicinity.

Like Mitsukai said, there was an old unused Blacksmith's shop between a bar and a restaurant. There was a main area for constructing weapons, and several back rooms. There was another passage that lead underground, possibly to a mine. Cleaning the place and making it look presentable again took all of about 15 minutes.

After introducing himself to the owner of the restaurant, having himself a dish of lemon flavored fish, then meeting the owner of the bar, downing a shot of “Ice Liquor,” Alec decided to check out the mine. The machines and tools used by the previous owners were still there and fully operational. So he thought there was no time like the present but to construct himself a weapon; a sword that only he would be able to use.

The metal in this place was unlike any he'd seen anywhere. Because of the ice and the cold, it was nearly unbreakable. Alec took to calling the metal “Cold Steel” for now. To break a weapon forged here would take a tremendous amount of effort, Alec saw this. Alec didn't know the actual name of the metal, but one that had weapons and armor forged here would probably be pretty much invincible.

Shaping and pounding some of this metal into the shape of the sword he'd want took hours, and the heat coming from the shop melted a lot of the snow. But eventually his creation was done, a sword that would allow him to channel his powers into it to raise the potential killing power of it dramatically. Alec purposely left room to improve upon the sword; perhaps one day soon he'd be able to learn a third power besides wind and lightning. It would only make the weapon that much better...

The loud sound that resembled freshly seasoned meat being put onto a grill was loud as Alec dipped his new creation into a vat of water to cool the “Cold Steel” as he'd taken to calling it, before placing it back upon the anvil on which it was currently being shaped. No one had seen so much activity in the shop for ages it seemed; every 5 minutes or so, someone new was poking their head in. Alec didn't mind much.

The normal hammers in the shop were broken, and Alec found out why quickly. The “Cold Steel” couldn't be worked on with normal tools; the hammer had to be made of the material itself. Underneath the shop appeared to be the only safe passage into the mine. Any other way inside had to be approached from underneath this massive glacier, and who was stupid enough to brave those temperatures and try it that way?

Building a sheath and handle for the blade wasn't very difficult. Carving his name into the weapon by way of symbols before the metal cooled too much didn't prove to be too difficult a task either.
