Appearance!
Height: 6'2
Weight: 175lbs
Hair Color: Purple and gold
Eye Color: Gold
General Description: Raijin is, well; colorful, to say the least. Even without clothing to add to the effect, his own natural appearance speaks to this fact. Hair like the darkest purple storm clouds and eyes like the brightest gold, this man can certainly stick out in a crowd. His off duty style is normally a play on a simple long tunic like over shirt and tan hakama bottoms. The tunic itself is always closed, with a small pendant near the neck. The top and shoulders is the same tan as his hakama; while the rest is a pale blue-purple that matches his hair. He wears a thin, red obi around his waist, tied loosely in front. Beneath the tunic is a secondary belt, which is what actually holds his hakama up. Shoes are always optional for him, he has spent most of his life barefoot, and therefore the soles of his feet have thickened to compensate. When he does wear shoes; they are usually standard issue shinobi sandals; although if need be he does have a pair of thin cloth boots that make his normal outfit. These are worn mostly for formal events, as he doesn't believe in 'dressing up' for events. It is only on missions that he changes his general dress; and that is only to don the normal Jounin uniform. He rarely carries his sword, unless on a mission; at which time it can be seen slung across his back and held in place by a simple white sash. He also has a tattoo of a dragon that begins at the base of his neck, and which winds down to the top of his left foot. The tattoo itself appears to be alive in some ways; as the colors are a vibrant mix of purple and golds, which seem to shimmer as he moves. As a party trick of sorts; he is able to simulate the dragon moving through special synchronized movements of his body.
About You!
Personality: Raijin is the type to rarely speak; but always watch. He prefers to hang back for the most part; spending his time alone or with only one to two people at a time. This is due to his heightened ability to sense emotion, something that when combined with a train eye for reading body language; makes larger groups unpleasant. He seeks harmony around himself, and large groups of people are by nature chaos controlled. However, chaos is still chaos, and the sheer power of larger groups is easily overwhelming, unless he was to spend large amounts of energy to tune the world out. This ties back into his quiet facade; as it is far easier to blend into the background when you are quiet. Being born an only child helped as well; as he didn't have the chance to hone social skills on siblings; and as all his cousins where either several years older or younger, he missed out there as well. That's not to say he isn't social at all; he just doesn't always know how to start a conversation, or what constitutes inappropriate behavior. He can, and usually does, come off as brash and brutish at first; barreling through conversations and missions like a one man storm, rarely stopping to think about what he's doing, or check if his team mates are even still alive in his wake. That's not to say he can't, or won't, plan; he just doesn't like to be inactive for long periods once he's motivated enough to actually work.
Likes: Raijin is the type to like something one moment, then hate it the next. He's about as consistent as the lightning he wields; that is to say, he's constantly changing. Very little remains the same from day to day; but he will admit to a fairly stable liking for candied ginger and fried pork. Then again, that just means he's gone a full week without changing his mind, or finding something better. He does rather like his swords, and the long process of proper maintenance is soothing enough for him to outright enjoy for the most part. He's just not a fan of how repetitive the process is. Puzzles delight him to no end; so long as there are plenty for him to blaze on through; as he tends to solve most fairly quickly. However, if you where to hand him a length of knotted rope and tell him to untangle it, he would sit in a corner, face lit in childlike joy, while he worked. The moment he finished, he would spend an hour or more re-tangling the length to go again. Knot puzzles are his one true, pleasure.
Dislikes: As with his likes, Raijin's dislikes change at a moment's notice. This helps to insure his mild social issues; as he will go from pleasantly chatting with someone to cold shoulder, or even verbal attacking, without any kind of warning. He rarely finds a food he doesn't enjoy; but he does outright despise anything with too much tarragon or dill in it. He lost a bet against an elder cousin as a child, and was forced to eat an entire bushel of dill, as well as a bowl of tarragon leaves. Raijin was never much of a fan after that.
Motivations: What can motivate someone whom is incapable of making a lasting decision on most issues? Power bores him; he sees the pursuit of power as the folly of the weak and stupid. Better to be second best and less of a target then stand in the limelight. Money? Raijin has little use for money; his family, while not overtly rich, is well off, and he has plenty of money for himself. He isn't the type to spend ryo uselessly; letting the majority of his money sit in the bank and rot while accruing interest. Fame? Why bother with fame. He would prefer to be able to walk the streets as just another unknown face. You live longer that way; and it makes his job as a ninja easier. He is better able to blend in when he has to change less of his appearance.
Fears: Raijin can be a little childish when in comes to fears. He's the type that still checks under his bed for monsters; or in his case, the giant spider that he still thinks wants to kill him. This seemingly insane notion came about when he was inadvertently caught in a genjutsu an uncle was practicing when he was 5 years old. The young Raijin was recovering from a spider bite when he was caught in a fear-inducing genjutsu that got out of control; implanting the idea that a giant spider was hiding in wait to attack him. As an adult, he has no actual fear of the arachnids, but he still checks. In his dreams, he's still terrified. Beyond that, very little can frighten the man; death is not something he finds he should fear. Everyone dies in the end, might as well live so that you can great the Grim Reaper as an old friend.
History: Childhood/Pre-Academy
Raijin was lucky in a way; beyond small incidents, his childhood was uneventful. Coming from a ninja clan, the young Raijin was immersed in the world of shinobi at a fairly young age; at first with the basics. Exercise was a given, his parents used to play dancing games with him as a toddler to encourage his agility and coordination. These lead into sports, something Raijin showed little aptitude for and was quickly released from. The boy preferred games of mental skill and dexterity to mindless contact sports; so instead of playing solider with his cousins, he played general; sitting back to direct “his” soldiers. He was expected to join the fray properly at least half the time; his family didn't want him to be unprepared. By the time he was old enough for daycare, he was showing the makings of a fine tactician, and he likely would have stayed purely on that path, if not for his uncle giving him a wooden practice sword one morning.
Now, within Raijin's clan, few chose the path of the sword; while the sealing skills that made the clan noteworthy did lend themselves well to the discipline, the clan itself normally encouraged something with more potential for evolution. Instead of locking into such a strict doctrine, they would take a general specialty such as ninjutsu for their secondary skill sets. However, Raijin found this to be just another giant puzzle, one he could devote a significant amount of time to; which in turn made him a very, very happy child. By this point he had been taught the basics of the clan's Fuuinjutsu style, and he set about teaching himself ways to merge the two areas into something usable. At first, his family was hesitant; but when they saw how much he threw himself into the family history and techniques, they began to relax and allow him freedom to work and evolve. By the time his 6th birthday approached, he'd finally gained the skill needed to transfer the crude seals he was starting to create on his own through the sword. It was still a very rough, unrefined ability, but it was something all his own. The others like him, they used the sword as their main offensive weapon; using seals for nothing but trap or barrier. Raijin was working on combining both, young mind working out grand and different jutsu he hoped to create once his skill had progressed far enough.
Academy
His academy years where nothing special. Little happened to him as he worked his way up; the occasional playground fights, teasing for his oddly colored hair, etc. His teachers for the most part allowed his odd behavioral ticks; his awkwardness in social situations was easy to recognize by then. Given he wasn't shy, it was this awkwardness that got him in trouble most often. He wasn't above smacking some self-important school yard bully with his sword. Only once did he ever use Fuuinjutsu outside the classroom while in the academy; a student in his final year was harassing a small group of kids a year below Raijin. Well, the young Tsukino didn't like it, and after the older student blocked his sword; he slapped a paralysis seal upon him before proceeding to give the elder a rather nasty beat down. If not for the teacher that saw the majority of the incident, he might have been expelled right then and there; they found out a few hours post fight that the bully had a concussion from the one time Raijin smacked him in the head; but given the lack of lasting injuries, and the cries of the children he protected; he was allowed to finish with nothing more then a three-day suspension and detention until the summer break started at the end of the school year. After that, no one really bothered him anymore.
Genin
Genin life was boring; full of the usual easy jobs that were passed off as missions. Lots of cat hunting, plant harvesting, box moving. Not much on the way of action at all. His was placed on a team that favored taijutsu and weaponry, although the lone female Fai did have some skill with Genjutsu. The other young man, Haniki, was your run of the mill taijutsu/ninjutsu type; nothing very special about either. Raijin was... fond of them, in a way; they worked well together for the most part. Under the tutelage of a scarred old Jounin called simply Aoba, they worked their way up. Dozens of E ranked missions where taken and completed before they ever took on a D-rank, and even that was simple. Mostly caravan escorts and the like, the occasional bandit removal mission. Never anything overly difficult. He was lucky enough to be chosen to go on a C-rank mission once before he was allowed into a promotion exam. His cousins had been assigned to hunt down a rouge chuunin, and had decided to take him along as their fourth man. He was perfectly safe, for the most part; 3 chuunin an himself against a group of highway bandits with piss poor weaponry and a single rouge ninja. All he had to do was stay back from the worst of the fight and maintain the barriers, while tossing a few... special seals, every so often. Paralysis, movement restrictions, chakra seals... he had them all, and even if they weren’t strong enough to outright stop the enemy, they did the job of slowing them down perfectly well. It was the success of the mission that allowed him to move on to the promotion exams that year; as his sensei had planned to hold them back a bit longer to work on more D and introduce them to easier C-rank missions before sending them in.
Chuunin
His exams went smoothly, as was expected; Raijin one of the 5 ninja from various village promoted. Now a Chuunin, he returned to his old team, as he felt no real need to try and find another group he could possibly fit into; and he wasn't so egotistical to think that he was no longer in need of a proper sensei. However, given Raijin's primary specialties where something no one else in his team even touched, he found himself in need of a second sensei. Someone he could work purely on his Kenjutsu. Fuuinjutsu was easy enough; his entire clan was made up of them, and one of his elder uncles offered to take him as a proper student. Through this training, he was able to acquire a far better understanding of the complexities of the sealing arts then he was able to on his own. The experience of a master was what he needed, not some dry tome about the technicalities and such. Who cared what the ratio of the second line to the third point was? He needed someone who could improvise and see the beauty of the seal itself; and that could work on an individual basis, without making everything about mass produced “perfection”, as most scrolls and books on the subject tried to.
His father was able to refer him to one of the many Kenjutsu schools in the village, even pulling a few strings so that he could meet with the master of the school before ever joining. The master was... skeptical, to say the least, that Raijin would be able to fit in anywhere. At the time, he was a bit of a hot head still, and impatient. Raijin wanted it right then and there; and was unfamiliar with the concepts of strenuous work. Mental exercises, planning, even the complex world of seals... that was easy for Raijin. Physical labors, honing the body to sync with the mind? Not so much. This proved to be the first real challenge the teen had in years. It was just what he'd needed as well; Raijin came to realize over the next few weeks and months just how bored with his life he really was. A fire was reigniting in him, that thirst for real knowledge returning after years of easy victories and near mental atrophy. Oh rather, his ability to learn new concepts had atrophied; so the dual assault by his new teachers, combined with the increase in mission difficultly was doing him a world of good. However, this was also the time when he started to retreat from the world at large; really. Teenage years where never easy, unless you where extremely lucky; Raijin's quirks and social problems made sure he wasn't one of them.
For the most part he began to retreat into his own world; only coming out when on missions with his sensei and team, or around his closer cousins. Rai's parents noticed this, but didn't do anything about it at first. He'd always been somewhat shy, or so it seemed, so they figured he just needed time to find himself and blossom on his own. However, Raijin continued to do nothing more then pull away and focus ever harder on his training; to the point that he began to alienate people around him. His lack of focus outward was taken as a cold demeanor, or outright disinterest; to which the world at large decided to return the favor and ignore him as well. This kept on until he was 16; at which point his Kenjutsu master decided that what Raijin needed was a vacation. Of sorts. He took Raijin along on his yearly visit to a sister school in Niwaurashi; and this turned out to be a rather important event in Raijin's life. The male had never really left his home country before; the Chuunin exams the year he competed was in Kumo; and his sensei preferred to stay within the country. His only real experience outside was a quick run over the border into Hana to help capture a Jounin-level missing nin that was terrorizing the area. Given the area he had been to was no different from the Kumo side; there was nothing special about it. This trip to Niwaurashi however; it ignited a wanderlust in the teen that has only grown over the years. The trip wasn't much to talk about; a quick visit, sample the local markets, gawk at the giant trees in full foliage mode, go home and write a report about it.
Special Jounin
Raijin was 18 when he was offered the chance to become a Tokubetsu Jounin. Raijin was unimpressed, to say the least. He knew he wasn't full Jounin material; that wasn't the issue. However, he knew that Tokuju in general stayed in or near the village; rarely being sent anywhere else. True, it would give him all the time in the world to work on his specialties; from the trip to Niwaurashi until that point he had taken every mission he possibly could that was outside his home country; but he wasn't sure that was a good enough reason. He was even offered his own team to sweeten the deal; at which point he just laughed hysterically and told the Jounin that was offering the promotion that he was a moron, and that he (Raijin) had no time or patience for a Genin team. After he basically laughed the offer into the dirt; his parents and assorted family members went behind his back and talked to the promotion committee, explaining Rai's wanderlust issues, as well as his other quirks; at which point an agreement was reached. If Raijin took the position, he would be allowed to take missions and travel at will to other villages and countries, so long as he maintained a clean record and didn't cause problems in other nations. When offered this deal; Raijin was still a tad slow to accept; as he was wary of the validity of the offer. It wasn't until his uncles kicked him in the ass (literally) that he took the offer and was promoted to Tokubetsu Jounin.
His years as a Tokujo where mostly uneventful; until the day that he met Himitsu Haruto. She (almost literally) fell into his lap in a way; having been taken from her home by a rouge Kumo Samurai and then dropped, alone and afraid, in the village. Her wondering had led her to the edge of the Tsukino's lands; where large lightning rods stood as a barrier between the village and the great storm beyond. Blind and unfamiliar with the lands; she had stopped to take a break while leaning against one of the rods; thinking it only a rock formation of some type. Raijin had been out meditating when he noticed her; and in his ignorance actually called her a moron for even being there. He did however, manage to save her life by using Brotherhood to redirect an incoming strike away from the rod, and Himitsu herself. That moment would come to be a defining point in both of their lives; as it was the start of a crazy adventure. Raijin was just happy to have found a kindred spirit of sorts; someone he could trust and rely on, someone to care for and that cared for him. With Himitsu, his life had found real meaning finally; and he was happier then he'd ever been. Her light and her presence soothed the Wanderlust that had plagued him for most of his adult life; and he was finally able to settle down and focus on the finer things in life; as well as his clan and personal growth.
Jounin (A-rank)
He was 20 when he was promoted to full Jounin status; and to say there was a celebration was an understatement. He had multiple things to celebrate at the time, actually; and the entire compound was awash in parties and neck deep in drinks. When the Sages wanted to party; they sure as hell knew how to. The main celebrations where over Raijin's promotion; it had been a long time since one of their numbers had been given such an honor as to be allowed the high position, and they wanted to squeeze all the joy out of it they could. Behind closed doors, and in the secrecy of his personal world; Raijin was celebrating for his own reasons. Sure, he was happy about his promotion; but he was far happier about another event that had happened the very day he'd received the news. It had been just another normal day; he was outside enjoying the sunlight with Himitsu. They both enjoyed meditating, and meditating together was even more pleasurable of an experience. They had been there for only about an hour; when she had spoken up, began to ask him questions. He'd answered her truthfully, as he always had; Raijin had never lied to her and never would. After a time, she fell silent, and he had assumed she was satisfied. That was, until she had begun to crawl into his lap. This was that unusual, she would sit on his lap from time to time; especially when they where outside and the storm was near the temple. The ground itself would become electrified on those days, and although she was resistant to the shocks; doubly so after all the years spent living with Raijin and inside the Tsukino clan temple; some days where still bad enough to cause her pain; and Raijin's lap was a safe place to sit. He'd thought nothing of it for a moment; not until she plucked at his eyes and made him open them, look at her and asked the question that rocked his world to the core: "Do you love me?"
He'd never once before that point actually given any thought to the notion of his feelings towards her; not on any level but friendship. Why would he; she had been a young girl when they'd first met and he was far too old for her. Several years seperated them, and Raijin was no pedophile. But now... things where different. She was of age; and had blossomed under his nose; with him never so much as acknowledging the physical changes. He was dense like that; although he wasn't above admitting that he'd had some... interesting dreams in his time. But he was also one of Kumo's top interrogators; and wasn't above using his body to get the information he needed. It had been enough to keep the edge off; keep his natural reaction from overloading his mind and causing awkward situations between them before then. In that moment though; the moment in which he let himself properly think.... he realized that he'd been deeply in love with her for years. From that moment... well; the rest of the afternoon was a blur, even years later. A blur of emotion and feeling and joy and other things of a more... adult nature. He'd even missed the meeting he'd been summoned to attend that evening; what was to be his surprise promotion. It was only because a messenger brought the news to him that he found out what the point of the summons was; and it wasn't until late into the next day that the news sunk in.
From that day on; he rarely, if ever, left the village without Himitsu with him. Mission, diplomacy (which she was far better then him at), it didn't matter. He stayed with her; rarely leaving her side for more then a few hours. He was happy; she was happy; and life was good. He'd settled into his new roles; found love in an old friend; and was set to live out the rest of his live the way most ninja only dreamed: content.
This period of content happiness lasted for several years; punctuated by little else then just a vague passing of time. They had the distinct advantage of living in one of the few perfectly safe places in the world; the clan temple had little to fear from the outside world and it's problems. Raijin's skills made him invaluable in the protection of the village; he was in charge of the barrier team that kept the people safe from the viral plague that had finally hit the village lakes. The power of the Tsukino barriers kept them safe; the clean water from the temple let them stay in their lands. Everyone won. Himitsu's skills as a medic had her constantly working towards a cure; travelling to other lands to work with other medics and scientists during the safe winter months and spending the summers safely tucked away with Raijin in the safety of the clan temple. They had purpose and challenges and a good life even in those dark times; few could say the same. It was during this time that two major events rocked Raijin's world.
The first; they discovered that Himitsu was carrying his child: he was going to be a father. That alone was a game changer in many ways; his clan didn't raise children via family units, more as a community. The children where raised in groups; all the cousins and siblings raised together in a style reminiscent of a boarding school; not by parents and the like. They had one giant family, not smaller sub-units. He had zero idea what being a father was; as he had never had one himself. He knew who his biological parents where; he worked with his 'father' nearly every day while maintaining the barrier; but there was nothing more then general clan affection there. The man was nothing more then another familiar face to him. Himitsu was having none of that, however; and insisted that they raise their child themselves. Raijin's reaction? Buy every parenting book in the village and start hounding any parents he knew for advice.
The second major event happened a few months after the discovery of Himitsu's pregnancy. It was their day off, and they where shopping for supplies for the baby; as well as treating themselves a little for all the hard work and progress that had been made lately: a plan to save the village was well underway and ahead of schedule, while Himi was making strides in finding a vaccine and effective treatment to the plague. Times where good, hope was higher then it had been in years. They where walking down a wide lane and happened to pass one of the many village owned orphanages that had cropped up recently to deal with the children with no family left. A small girl was being bullied by one of the other children; something neither of them took well to. They both stepped in, Raijin stopping the bully and Himitsu having a word with the matron of the place. One thing led to another; and after a mild confrontation; they ended up taking the girl home with them; formally adopting her the next morning. Amara, their new daughter. Raijin loved her instantly; he spoiled and fawned over her constantly; as did Himi. He felt like his family was complete, in a way. As soon as the baby was born; he would have everything he could want. Nothing could go wrong; or so he thought.
They where so close; so very close. They merely had to wait out the winter and into the spring thaw. They would blow the dam that held the lakes; drain the water and seal the lake beds; rebuild the dam and refill them with pure water from the glacier higher in the valley. A second barrier of the village; a bubble if you will; access restricted to the warp tile being installed and the monitored tunnels; no one would threaten the village again. It was the dead of winter; the safe times when the plague couldn't touch them.
And then it wasn't. The entire village woke up sweating and broiling; it was like nature had turned off winter and turned on Yokuchi's worst summer nightmare. The snow was gone, the ice was nearly so; the barriers failing and everything falling apart. The people hurried to the safety of the tunnels; they could escape before the lakes melted; come back when the water refroze and try again.
CRACK!
The end had come. The glacier had split. Millions of tones of ice hit the lake water and created tidal waves dozens of feet high; washing the village in toxic water and sealing the fate of anyone not in the tunnels. Raijin and Amara where deep under the Thunder Valley; leading group after group through the maze of tunnels and into the safety of the borderlands between Kumo, Yokuchi, and Hana territory. Himitsu... was not so lucky. No one was 100% sure what happened; but given the last time she was seen was when she tried to get a group of survivors into a tunnel that was found collapsed and leaking lake water; it was assumed the entire group was caught in the cave in. Anyone that had survived would have died from suffocation or drowned before the cold or the plague could end it.
He survived the final fall of Kumo. Amara survived as well. They had lost much; she had lost the only mother she'd ever known; he'd lost his partner and unborn child. It was a shock; one he did not take well. They spent little time with the survivors; work called and he was needed in Niwaurushi. They needed him to maintain their barrier; he and roughly half of the survivors left only a day after the exodus from Kumo; carried by Hana's largest transport ship to the safety of the mountain valley village. He did his job, sure; but the fire was gone from him. He had lost much of what had made him who he was; his love, his village, his drive for life; really. He'd failed them all; his barriers had not saved them. The entire clan felt the pain of this; they had been charged with protecting the people; in the end it wasn't enough.
Jounin (S-rank)
In all his misery over the loss of Himitsu and the village; he missed his own promotion; again. The last time, it was because he was too busy being happy over his life. This time... he was locked away in his rooms staring at a blank wall and surrounded by the fruits of a whirlwind destruction fest. He'd broken, in a way; destroying much of what he'd brought with him in terms if pictures and family trinkets. Old gifts; little oddities they'd found over the years: he'd broken (or at least tried to break) them all in his rage and pain.
If not for Amara, he would have shut down; or worse. He felt like he'd personally caused the death of his village and his people with his failures; nothing said or done was able to change his mind. He went through the motions for months; maintain the barrier in the mountains and keep the warp tile calibrated. Simple. Mindless for him. It was nothing. It was pointless; there where plenty of other Tsukino that could do his job. He just wanted to crawl into bed and lay there until he died from the pain in his heart.
But he had Amara; his perfect, wonderful daughter and he couldn't leave her like that. She was still alive. She deserved better then a father that did nothing but work and stare at the wall. It was hard; supremely so; but he forced himself to get up and get out. He took her to the villages in the forest; they explored the mangrove swamps and climbed the Shinboku tree. They even found a decent cliff to dive from. Slowly, over the months and then years, he was able to heal; if even a little bit. He could function again; he found some measure of light returning to his life. So long as he was with Amara; he could feel again, he could be happy. They stayed in Niwaurashi for three years before they left for the first time; to Yokuchi to aide his cousins in the desert. From there; to Hana for the same reasons. He realized that if they moved between the villages every few months; he could almost pretend things where normal again; and Amara thoroughly enjoyed the travelling. That was all he needed to know. She was happy; and he was learning how to deal with the world again one day at a time. He found after a while that he could even sleep again without having horrible; debilitating nightmares. They had found a measure of peace again. That was enough for him for a long time.
After a while of traveling between village and working himself ragged; he'd found a pretty even rhythm to his life. Times where peaceful, the villages were thriving again, and trips home were keeping him sane. It was during one of these trips that something amazing happened; he'd been summoned to the hatching ceremony of one of the clan's dragon's, a once in a lifetime oppurtunity for most monks, even more so because he was 'allowed' to bring Amara with him into the clan's inner sanctum, where the dozens of eggs were cared for with all the passion and power of the clan. The hatching was as sucessful as any of them could have hoped; but something slightly... odd, at least to their experience, happened. The young dragon, Inazuma, seemed to almost instantly bond with Amara; something never seen before. She was Tsukino by adoption, not blood; so to see one of their thunder dragons bond so hard was... unusual. Not bad at all; he was as proud a parent as he could be over this. The young dragon left the clan's home with them, making his new home in Niwa with them. After a short time, it was apparent that him living on the roof wasn't going to cut it; and he happily proposed the option of sealing the dragon within his daughter. They had bonded so hard that there was not even the chance of failure, the power of their wills and his skills making the sealing as smooth an event as could be hoped for.
Events after the sealing... a blurr of emotion and eventual calm. Her power amazed him, he had trouble keeping up at first; but eventually he was able to catch up, as it was. Her adventures without him... well; yeah. Destroying a village he didn't care about; and the kidnapping afterwards... he still saw red sometimes thinking about it. Damn if he wouldn't have wiped a village himself if not for her clinging to him and begging him not to. After that... throwing themselves into work and training as they had when their home had fallen; years spent this way as they both dealth with problems. Then, a light at the end of the tunnel as it where; the plague was over, the old lands were reopened. They could go home.
He was one of the first to return to Kumo for the rebuild; using his seals and his knowledge of the mountains to help design the new layout of the bridges and terraces; additional caverns for protection and new security on the village edge. Seal the lakes properly; everything he could. Returning to their old rooms in the temple was enough to end a lot of misery he'd carried deep in his soul; even if the loss of people was enforced at first. He was long... over? those losses; and a good redecorating and focusing on their lives now versus then definately helped.
RP Sample: "Why d'ya insist on treatin' every little scrape an' bump, eh Himi?" He'd been out training his students, a new batch to replace his old team. They'd all been promoted from Chuunin to Special Jounin recently; and had been assigned students of their own. He was beyond proud of them, and wished them well; but he almost missed them dearly. It was strange after all these years to have to learn new name, new styles, new everything; all over again.
One kid, he was bold and crass and just fast enough to get lucky; had scored a fair hit to Raijin's forehead that had left him bleeding and annoyed. He'd finished the session alright; sent the uppity idiot to the hospital too. But he'd still come home bloodied and dirty; and that was all it took to get her railed up and fussing.
"One of these days I'm not going to treat a wound and you'll end up with a festering crater somewhere on you. And then I will laugh, beat yo stupid, and fix it."
"Maaaaaaah. Ne're gunna happen. Juss gotta burn tha' wound closed, yanno?"
"Yeah, and that's why you're covered in scars, idiot."
He just smirked at her, tongue sticking out and face pulled into an expression of amusement. "Nah nah, ya can' pull tha' now. Ya gave me juss as many a those as I gave myself. You an' yer damn scalpels."
"Hey. My skills save your life. Be less grateful."
"Never, love.~" With that, he shoved her hand away and pulled her down to him before shifting to lay on the bed properly. He was tired; and he wanted to take a nap; but not without her to cuddle into and make the ache in his head go away. "Juss hush and lemme nap, neh?"
