Mission Taken - Patrol Duty:

With her first mission as successful as it was Hikari hoped that this next one, Patrol Duty, would be just as good. She had been paid rather nicely for helping to capture that thief in the market, and she planned on doing a well enough job to deserve whatever it was she would be paid for for this mission. Her job was simple, patrol duty. She was to watch a particular area from eleven at night to seven in the morning - and thankfully she had taken a nice, long nap during the way, or else she probably wouldn't be able to make it all night long.

With her bear hoodie on, and the hood up, she started her shift. She was patrolling the market district, an area she had begun to know very well. She had about three streets that were her responsibility to take care of, and she was going to make sure that nothing happened on her watch... or feel, since sensory was going to play a big part in this. It made it easier really because she didn't have to worry about the darkness stopping her from being able to see like it would someoe with normal eyes. Yup, sensory for the win.

She walked down the first of the three streets slowly, nothing out of the ordinary, and nothing out of place. The second and third were much like the first. However, she didn't lax in her duty, and instead just continued to make a giant slow circle throughout the three streets. As she passed the same street each time she made sure to check that everything was as it was before: the stalls undisturbed, nothing where it hadn't been before, nothing lying on the ground, and no one sneaking about.

Every so often she would check the brail watch she had put on her wrist for this particular task, seeing that time was passing later and later. On about her tenth time around she heard something off to the right of her, and focusing her sensory in that direction picked up the movement of a small creature - the smell of it was distinctly feline. She heard a sudden hiss and sensed the thing flying straight towards her head. She ducked, allowing the cat to go racing by her head and land on the ground, where it tore off after a mouse it had spotted beneath one of the other merchant carts. "Bloody cats.."

She kept going, feeling it was getting later and later, or rather closer to the morning. On about her fifteenth time around she picked up the movement of a kid. "Oi, kid... isn't it way too late for you to be out here by yourself? Curfew started about five hours ago. So unless you can give me a good reason why you're out in the streets you better run on home." The kid, looking petrified that he'd been caught outside after hours, took off towards the housing districts.

She finished her rounds just as the sun rose, and handed over her report of the boy she had sent home, but of an otherwise uneventful night. Now it was time to go home and climb into bed for some much needed sleep.
